MrsN
This is my project from the weekend, well actually part of the project (I actually made about 30 of these frames) It is a simple project that I am hoping will sell well at craft shows. I mean what grandma doesn't another picture of her grand-kids on the fridge? I cut frames from 1/8" baltic birch plywood and mod-podged scrapbook paper to them. I had an idea about streamlining the process so I also mod-podged pieces of wood then cut out the frames. Both methods worked but the mod-podging first caused some of the pieces to have "distressed" style edges (It is a design element, that's my story and I am sticking to it) I also glued some hearts and stars that have scrap book paper attached. I used hot glue to stick magnet strips to the back of the frames. Let me know if you have questions! MrsN Fab4

bandaideman
The Grandmother's will love them with the crafty look and the ease of putting them up on a fridge rather than a wall. I sure am glad our fridge has handles cause if they didn't stick out of the doors I would never find it and starve to death.
MrsN
The other thing I might do with this idea is to have kids make them as a craft. My son has a bunch of friends in the neighborhood and all of the kids are often looking for something to do. If I had a bunch of pieces and they could glue their own stuff on it might make an awesome afternoon activity. I don't know if I can handle that many kids with glue bottles and glitter, power tools are so much easier to handle lol wombatie

Dan
Great idea. Do the magnets hold the pictures on too? This would be great to have on hand for rainy days when the kids say, "I'm bored. What is there to do?"
MrsN
The magnets hold the picture to the fridge. They are right at the edge of the opening so they catch the edge of the photo.

wombatie
What a brilliant idea Katie. I know a family that would love to decorate some of these and no not mine. Because glue, glitter, kids and me DO NOT GO TOGETHER WELL. I used to be a primary school cleaner so my days of cleaning up glitter are well and truly gone. Thanks Katie.
