artmill
I'd like to share my paint booth photos with everyone with more pics in my album. This was inexpensive to build, I started with a cabinet base that someone was throwing out along with a long base as well (i will use that one for a bench). I had an idea of what i wanted and put it on paper and here is the end result. I installed a slot for a furnace filter before a bathroom exhaust fan venting out the basement window, installed 2 dual bulb floresent lights, 2 switches, one for the fan and the other for the lights and the 2 outlets that I installed on the side. I added a pvc conduit at the top for a snower curtain to confine the fumes within the booth. I have only used it once and it seemed to have worked fine. Unfortunately I was down due to rotator cuff surgery from jan-june and was not able to do much of anything and now it's summer and no time for scrolling Soon I will really be putting it to the test. Thanks for looking and Happy scrolling...... Art ps. I also want to show you my very first portrait using gimp , I thought it came out quite well myself. Well, it made my wife cry anyway A special thank you to Travis and SSVU. heppnerguy
pretty ambitious. I have never worried about the fumes..I just spray away. Maybe I should consider something like this. thanks for sharing. I like your wood portrait too. Good job.

keefie
What a great idea, my spraying is done with shed doors and windows open and wearing a mask, then go for a coffee while it's drying lol.
smitty0312
Great idea and great thought went into this, also re-purposed an old cabinet. Since I have my new shop attached to my garage, I can go into the garage and spray(with doors open) my projects then bring back into shop to dry. Tom J
Nice little spray booth. My only concern is with the fan motor being in the air flow. If you a spraying a flammable product a spark from the motor could cause a fire or explosion. If you are using flammable products I would suggest you off mount the motor and drive the fan via a belt. That will keep the motor out of the air flow. Tom
ChelCass
Nice idea, I could do this in my garage, Thanks! Beautiful portrait of you lady.
artmill
Thank you for the feedback. The main reason I built the booth was because of my wife. You see, she has COPD a chronic lung disease and odors such as those of paint, stain or oils cause her breathing issues. I am hoping this will alleviate this issue. Again thanks
sullyscroller
Art you might consider looking into the waterbased clear finishes, would really help with the fumes and her COPD sully

amazingkevin
great patterning!charcoal is cheap but I forgot what kind to get but filter the fumes thru a paper a.c. filter and the air from that gets treated thru charcoal .no smell then.reseach it in google charcoal air purification.I forgot what I was going to do with it but this will work for you .the charcoal is inexspensive but it has to be a certain type.
