bandaideman
Hey boys and girls and puppy dogs too. If you know that phrase you be old. Anyway. I was able to make a cheap purchase of the bark on rounds you can get at Michaels. They were used in a wedding on every table and the bride did not want them after the wedding glad I asked. Anyway I have used them before not always happe with finish. Usually just poly I have tried stain not impressed. What are your favortie things to do with them. I am putting wild animals in them Pictures of the grandkids............ only kiding. I keep them in a barrel.
heppnerguy
I, personally have never used rounds but I have seen some really nice things done with them It looks to me like they are naturally framed, so work with them until you find the finish 'you like' and then the rest is magic,
MrsN
the rounds are end grain, so stain is sucked up like a sponge. put a conditioner (or a coat of poly) before you stain. see if that helps.
keefie
If they are big enough you can cut them in half at an 6deg angle to give you 2 half rounds then cut a hole for a clock and cut picture next to it. the 6 deg angle on the base makes them tilt back slightly and look much better. (Just remember to cut the pattern on the right side otherwise it will lean forward lol) just another idea for you. Keefie
