keefie
Well I've finally got my Victorian clock finished. It is made from birch ply (4mm) and the front section was darkened with wire wool/vinegar stain then three coats of lacquer. As usual all comments welcome. keefie
Keith, awesome;-) How long did it take? Mahendra, it took me just over 4 weeks to finish, but that was because of the operation on my knee stopping me being out there for more than about 40 minutes at a time. Hopefully the next one will be quicker. Keefie.
CHEF1943
Lovely work yes it is one not to be rushed. I did 2 in acrylic, please keep the kid's away from it as it will be a big attraction to them. how meany more are you going to attempt???--Brian
keefie
Brian, I have two more marked out in polycarbonate (same as acrylic but much stronger) all ready to be cut, I just need to find out which blades are best to cut polycarbonate with. The birch ply one I just finished was the first project I have ever cut totally using spiral blades - which is another reason it took me so long. CHEF1943
I cut mine with spiral no2 blades (I never use plain blades cant control them they seem to have a life of there own) good luck with acrylic it gets messy but fun just wash it after cutting and all the ruff bits come off---------------Brian ps you only get one chance to glue it together keefie

TXScrollsawartist
Wow! And people say that I have patience to cut some of the pieces I do!!! Great job! I cannot imagine cutting this entirely with spiral blades. I use them occasionally but have never been able to get the sharp crisp lines of strait blades. Good on ya! Barry5180
Great job Keith! I can't believe you did the whole thing with spirals. I usually use them only for portrait work with lots of curved lines. For something like this I would have used a regular blade. Spirals make this project that much more impressive.
