Travis Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Its much too hot outside to wear my winter clothes. I need to add to my summer wardrobe. I think we're in desperate need for some Scroll Saw Village t-shirts! So lets throw a T-Shirt design contest! Entry is easy. Just post your t-shirt idea in this thread. Cool illustrations, clever saying, or classy understatement...anything goes! The only thing that must be included is the words "Scroll Saw Village" and the URL http://www.scrollsawvillage.com. Mock it up in Inkscape or GIMP with your new found designing skills. Not an artist? No problem. Just scan in your hand-drawn doodle and you're in! (but you must submit an image to be eligible) The winner will receive a t-shirt with the winning design, perfect for those long summer days behind the saw. Enter as many times as you want. Entry is open to all Earth citizens (everybody is welcome to participate) We'll put all of the designs up for a secret vote on July 6th. Voting may take 2-3 weeks, depending on the number of submissions. OK. Here's the fine print. All submissions become the property of Scroll Saw Village. One or more non-winning submissions may make its way onto a t-shirt or other SSV swag. Elements from multiple entries may be combined to create SSV swag. Creating fake accounts to boost your odds or to manipulate voting will disqualify you and may get you banned (I can tell these things). Void where prohibited. Yada yada yada. Lets have some fun!

britetomro Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Have some verbiage which can be considered and an image can be added if needed, so here goes. Scroll Saw Village Dedicated to those who know and are willing to share the Art of Scrolling. If it can be scanned, it can be created in wood. Actually have the last sentence on my business cards. Thanks, Ron
britetomro Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 In consideration of my entry, I would suggest maybe the image of a scroll saw on the front along with the website and the verbage on the back.
Christina Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Wow great entries everyone! I love the eagle carrying the scrollsaw Grandpa. Christina
joscrolls Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Another design I came up with: (the website is there...if you look closely at the scrollsaw )
Dragon Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 http://www.vif.com/users/dancer/tshirt.doc I hope this link works for my entry because it is a doc and not a jpg Diane
Dragon Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 How do I get my .doc converted into a .jpg so that the picture of my entry shows here? Diane
yost69 Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 when i open your doc i only see words. is this what it is supposed to be? if so you could just type them in here. if not then you could save the doc as a pdf then open it in photoshop then save it as a jpg. there may be other ways but that is the only way that i know of to get stuff from word to a picture. Ben
realfEZ Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 How do I get my .doc converted into a .jpg so that the picture of my entry shows here?Diane You can use the old print screen method. There must be a PRTSC key somewhere on your keyboard... After that open MS paint and paste the clipboard content using Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut. Save as Jpeg and that's it. You won't get a high resolution picture, but it should be enough for us to see it. fEZ.
britetomro Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Dragon, Was working on this last night with a document and trying to open it in Gimp. Gimp will not recognize a .doc item. Went into google and asked how to save a word document to a pdf. You will find a number of options available. Since I have Word 2007, I was able to download an upgrade which allowed me to save as a pdf file. Check this out and see if you can find an option which works for you. Ron
