Gerrit Nathan King
I had a lot of fun making these. My kids and their friends have enjoyed playing with them as well. I like the burnt Elephant and think i will try that on the other animals too. Edited November 6, 2013 by gerritnking murf10346

rjR
NICE! I use the torched effect on quite a few things also. There is a joy in toymaaking! You can make cars/trucks etc just as easily! Scrap 2 by stock makes neat toy cars! Do you use a little candle wax rubbed into/on the middle of the axels? I do and it does make them roll easier! If a wheel wants to be stubborn and come loose; drill a tiny hole in the end of the axel shaft. Then Tap in the pointed end of a toothpick to expand the end of the axel! Thanks I just found the crayon truck from Steve Good and can wait to try that. I will definitely try the paraffin wax on the axles. thanks for the tip. i put a little glue on the axle to keep the wheels in place. Fish
Nice toys, kids do love the simple things. I have used a few drops of vegetable oil on a few axles that were sticky, it worked pretty good.

TXScrollsawartist
Nice shapes for wheeled push toys! I have found out that natural wood sells much better then colorized because it is too hard to make them drool proof. Also, I use rub the axles on a bar of soap to keep them moving. Well done!
