Stand & first cutouts

Made a stand for my Hegner.
After searching came across an article from Michael Martin.
Thanks Michael (if you ever read this)
The top is adjustable so as to vary the angle. Sturdy and practically no vibration.
Also attached are the first 2 cutouts. The internal corners are not good so need a lot more practice.

One is for grandson's bedroom door. Patterns from Steve Good

the differences is what makes 'home made items' stand out. I like to purposely make slight changes to a project when I make them. I want my projects to have a certain originality to them. One thing I like about scrolling is if you do happen to vary a little off a line, only you know it. Others will not even see it, unless it is way off. Remember, most people think you are special to be able to produce things like these out of wood, (and we won't tell anyone any different), let them think we are  extremely talented,if they want.

Thanks all for the comments.

Bill I sent you mail on another forum.

I changed the height to suit my chair and the top to suit the saw.

It is wide in the front but I can get in close. It also collects the dust that the vacuum

doesn't get and the dust doesn't end up on the floor.

For anybody else interested this is the link

  • 2 weeks later...

I built that same stand for my Craftsman a few  years ago. It works great and is a super design. The cuttings look great. I have found that as a rule, we are always are own worst critics. The reason of course is because only we know exactly what our finished project was supposed to look like. Everyone else thinks the piece is amazing, but I of course know where the flaws are. The trick is to never tell anyone..
