My shop is small as well, but as you said it works. You seem to have it well organized and set up to your working style and of course all the tools a craftsman needs. Phantom Scroller
So what size is 'the den'? You certainly have a lot packed into a small space - congratulations! And is that a strip sander sitting to the right of the bench mortiser? It's 16' X 13' X 8' I built it in 19mm thick timber with oak posts from a saw mill in the forest of dean it will outlast me, the sander next to the mortiser is a small bench top bandsaw with a disc sander on the side and it wasn't man enough to put my logs through hence the new bandsaw. Thanks everyone for you comments, I never make any profit on my work I just keep buying tools it's an addiction. Ron Johnson
Ron Excalibur EX21 it was the best thing I ever bought and if it ever breaks I'll buy another. That's great. I've had mine for over 14 years. Myself I'll have it rebuilt if need be. Sure worth the investment and a pleasure to work with. oldhudson
I thought I'd try to post some pics of my shop. Let's see how this goes. My shop is on the lower level of a split entry house. It's 12 x 14. And while that's pretty small I often use the garage for breaking down sheet goods and finishing, well at least between March and November, this time of year - not so much. I also have permission to use the family room for 'staging'. I should add a couple of notes. These photos are a couple years old and like most shops it is in a state of constant change. If I took pics today it would look somewhat different. And my router table sits on a shelf with an old B&D Workmate when not in use. I take both down and set the router table in the Workmate for table routing. And while this fine group is dedicated to scrolling, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm more of a generalist. I like to make things I haven't done before. vykus
I live in an apartment and am lucky enough to have my own separate garage so I can work. The problem is that it is also used to store a lot of things that used to be in a basement that we no longer have. It is very cramped but the nice thing is that everything is in reach.
