Sublime4life40
Hey everyone,im Rick from Neoga,IL."Yeah, the midwest",lol.Ive been scrolling around 4 years. It al started when my dad went out and got a Craftsman 16" saw.He got me interested in scrollsaw work..I love to cut portraits.I mess with alittle bit of everything from fretwork to intarsia and everything in between.Dad got tired of me using his saw. So,I went out and bought a Dremel 1800 scroll station."I tell you its the main tool in my shop".I have a full shop, but after learning the scrollsaw,"everything else seems dull and obsolete".Scrolling is a way of life now, lol. After years of doing different projects.I decided to make my own patterns.Ive done family portraits and all kinds of different things."I just got tired of some scrollsaw mags".The subjects didnt interest me as much.I wanted to cut things you couldnt get from a scrollsaw mag.I draw alot, and use a simple software call Seriff photo plus and Rapid Resizer.Ive been thinking about tryng to setup at shows.but im still an amature .I need to find out what it takes.Ive went to shows, but "ive never seen stuff like,I cutout".I do alot of portraits where ,I put all the cutout pieces back into the picture.I dark stain or airbrush the cutout pieces."Well sorry to go on and on".Hey glad to be apart of a great group of people.Rick

Travis
Hi Rick. Welcome to the Village. I've checked out some of your patterns and cuttings. They look great! We'd love to see how you do your inlay portrait techniques. It's a very unique approach that really adds a cool edge. Anyway, we're glad to have you on board. Jump on in and have some fun!
