How to make wood inlay?

Hi all, I liked the inlay work, do any of you could tell me how you do that?.

On the Chevy sign I just posted. I scrolled out the lettering, then traced them onto the wood. I then used my router to "inlay" the letters. The letteres I inlaid were an 1/8" thick.

I have posted the technique of inlay I enjoy very much called Marquetry. Everyone has their own technique of doing inlaid work. Hopefully this will give you a start.
