Overfifty
What's your preferred method for displaying your scrollwork? Do you hang it as is, do you make a frame, do you make a base so it stands up? I appreciate a lot depends on what the piece is. Thank you, Barry. LarryEA
Barry, I have no particular preference. The pattern, especially the pattern, the thickness of the wood probably determines How it is displayed. Larry PS: How many ways can you display scroll works? * Framed A) Frame is separate from the scroll work B) Frame is anchored and part of the scroll work * Self standing * Base mounted * Wall hanging - No frame
Sparkey
For fretwork I frame them. I am lucky the place I work at used to make frames and doesn't any more but still has all the tools and supplies. We can make any frame any size for $5 so it wouldn't make sense for me not to frame them. I am working on an intarsia now that is three roses. My wife wants them put in a shadow box. amazingkevin
amazingkevin
I'd love to frame things but wood supply for that is nill.but im open for suggestions as how to use other wood for that.i like stand up projects,as they stay clean and look nice just being displayed.I guess i do lots of all ways ,just what ever hits me at the moment so i can get back to scrolling.this was an interesting post i like it. jcrites39
I will usually make a frame and cut a mat for the fretwork because i use 1/8"bb, otherwise it just sits as it is.
