It is like intarsia only instead of using a wood chosen for its natural color and grain you stain it to the color(s) that you need and it tends to be cut from the same piece of lumber. Spirithorse I used 3/4 inch pine for the whole project its all cut out of one board there is 86 pieces they were cut then stained different colours and glued back together at different levels to give that 3D effect The stain was Walnut, golden oak, maple and some pieces were left natural. amazingkevin 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
