I know that may seem odd but a saw a photo of some intarsia work and decided on the spot this was a process I had to learn. I am a full time photographer and retired from the US Army. Hoping I can leran and perhaps meet some of you and get inspired by your work and knowledge from your experience.

LarryEA
I wanna know, 'Do you have horses?' Just kidding. You will need a list of what is required besides a scroll saw. (sander?) And a list of what additional items would be helpful. WELCOME The intarsia pro's are drooling to help.

heppnerguy
Hello David, Welcome to The Village. If I was to give you a tip on intarsia, it would be for you to chose a simple pattern with maybe 10 pieces. That you you can get the feel of what it is about without trying to start with something too complex and get discouraged from the results. I started my woodworking by trying an intarsia piece because I saw some of them at a fair and could not believe my eyes. I moved to where I live now and only had a small shop and wondered what I might do in that little area and then I remembered the intarsia I had seen and wondered if I could do that. If you Google 'intarsia" you will find several sights and there are some great videos on the making of intarsia on youtube too. If you would like a couple of simple patterns to try, just let me know and I will be happy to email you a couple to get you started. I actually made my first intarsia on my band saw. I found out I could do it and away I went. Be sure and ask any questions that you may have and come back to the Village often and get to know the people here and then we can get to know you too. I hope to see you around here often. Dick heppnerguy
