Bendita
Just curious how many people with the DeWalt saw have purchased the gadget for locking the arm in the upright position, I find I use a piece of wood that I slide in there does the trick for me. What are some other ideas out there. Also am I the only one that keeps sticking my blade in the blowhose when I lower the arm down? It's most annoying. browders
I bought a lifter for mine, after initially just tightening the screw on the pivot. Someone said it was hard on the bearing in there. Now that I'm used to it I really like it. Very secure way to hold the upper arm in place and is convenient to access. woodworker13403A and amazingkevin
edward
I bought a lifter a couple years ago and i like it, use to use a stick to hold the arm up, until I got the lifter. edward
Clayton717
I still use a block of wood to hold the arm up. I reach for it out of habit now. I release the tension with one hand and grab the block with the other.
smitty0312
I have bungee cord attached to my saw, then to the ceiling, lifts automatically when blade is released, you have to have just the right amount of pressure so the arm doesn't fly up when you release the blade, I have a pretty long bungee, been using this for a few years now. amazingkevin
I'd like the lifter on my machine too but have the easy lift system and am happy with it .BUT the lifter would save me a step holding down the arm to get maximum bite on the saw blade .i have a little to much spring tention on my easy lift thats why i have this little problem. Kepy
I have one of the lifters I bought about a year ago and it still won't work. I guess you do have to install it for that. I do mainly small work and have yet to feel the need for it.

Fish
I bought the lifter from grandpas workshop.. I will never go back to a block of wood. It's simple and I'll bet you'd like it. browders
sullyscroller
Here's some pics of my set-up...... I use a small c-clamp on the top side of the arm and then attach the bungee to it but basically the same idea as this sully

Bendita
I got a Lift & Click for my birthday and I love it. Marg Marg you being on the other side of the world I would think your upper arm would always be up. heppnerguy
I use the 2 X 4 and I do not feel it takes any time to set or Unset. It is an automatic part of cutting for me and I just don't feel the need for a device for it. Maybeif I had one, I would feel differently about it, but it is so much easier than trying to wrestle with the arm, that as soon as i finally tried it, I could not find any fault in it. Larry...try the 2X4 it is so much better than using your own arm.. hey maybe others would say the same thing to me about the lifter arm. PawPawRay
Looked at the lifter and then made my own out of metal bar and bungee cord. Works great cost almost nothing.

woodworker13403A
I use the Jim Dandy lift and I love it. No more chasing the block of wood that I knocked off of the table. Rick
