LarryEA
The topic title may be mis-leading but... tracyguy's post for Air Pump prompted this. No I do not know of one. My computer is too slow to do the research. I suspect there is a miniature vacuum you can attach to eliminate most of the dust created by the scroll saw. This would be quite beneficial to those who have breathing problems. Most of you who read this have the ability to do the research. I was able to find one that runs from a USB port. Experimental, I don't know. Is there a quiet miniature vacuum that could be adapted for use on a scroll saw? Well, there should be. Jim Finn
I have a ,cheap, shop vac connected to my Jet scroll saw. I have it outside the shop under a plastic tub. I can not hear it over my scroll saw. I have it connected to my foot switch along with my scroll saw.
amazingkevin
This is an on going problem for the scroller..My friend with a nail salon had a noise issue with the vacumn under the work desk for nails.i told him to make a muffler in wood with the vacumn inside just like the car muffler with baffles inside.Worked well for him. tvman44
I like my HF 1 Hp DC, much quieter than a shop vac.
coullion
Ray Seymore at Seyco.com has a nifty vacuum for the scrollsaw. I checked it out at his shop and it is pretty quiet. Hope it's ok to post the link here. Todd Edited January 28, 2014 by coullion
sullyscroller
Todd, great link. My Planer is set up on a 55 gallon cyclonic vacuum but i wear hearing protection when i run it. But if you extended the hose from the saw to the cyclonic drum and put the vacuum unit far enough away or even outside Then the niose from it would be almost zero when running the saw. Then having it run only when the saw runs is good to. I've burned up 4-5 shop vacs over the years , dang things don't like to run for hours on end ???? so many new gadgets to make and no time. sully
