wombatie
Hi everyone. I am finally back. At the beginning of the year I made a resolution to scroll more and print less. Well I certainly did that. I have spent the last 6 months working hard in my garage and have hardly been on the computer. Now that the winter is here I can get back to the computer and catch up with everyone. A lot has changed on the site while I've been away and it all looks great. Looking forward to checking it all out. Marg
Barry5180
Welcome back Marg. I don't think I've met you before on any of the sites. Looking forward to your posts and seeing some of that work you've been doing all this time. I have to admit, I had to look at where you were from when you said winter, as it's summer here in the states...LOL Barry

Travis
Welcome back Marg! Sounds like you've been busy. I can't wait to see some of the stuff you've been working on. I've been trying to get into the garage more myself, but RL has been getting in the way. A good 6 mos of garage time sounds pretty good to me. wombatie
I forgot to say that I'm in Australia, so its winter here now. My 6 months in the garage have been great and its even better to say that none of the work was for me. They have been orders from friends and friends of friends who found out that I had retired. My last order was for Jeff Zaffino's Malbry Mill it took me 22 and a half hour from preparing the wood to framing it, I made a couple at the same time just in case. Time well spent. And not a spiral blade in site. Once I can work out what photo is what I will start an album. Tanks for the welcome back, now to catch up on some reading. RipCat
Hi Marg, welcome back, looking forward to seeing your photos. If you don't use spiral blades, what do you use? I can't imagine tackling one of Jeff's images without a spiral!
wombatie
Sorry it's taken me awhile to get back but i've been in bed for a week with the flu. Still a bit sluggish but getting back to normal slowly. Anyway here are the photos I promised you.
Travis
Those turned out great! I really love the water wheel. Nicely done. Be sure to add those to your User Gallery too (you can find a [tut]tutorial here[/tut]). Those are certainly something to be proud of! Good Job! britetomro
Great cutting on the Malbry Mill pattern. Jeff creates some great patterns. Have done a number of his patterns, (Large Cheetah, Cowboy, Pointer Dog in Field) and cannot imagine doing the cutting without the use of a spiral bit. Am also curious as to what blade you used? What is the thickness of your material which you cut? Thanks for sharing your works. Ron
wombatie
The Mill was cut from 3mil. marine ply and I used a 2/0 crown tooth blade. That was the 2nd time that I had done the Mill and both times I used that type of blade. I have practised with a spiral blade but I really hate the fuzzies they leave, it would take me longer to sand than it would to cut. But as they say each to his own.
