LarryEA
Santa boo hiss don't bring anything. But if I got one for free I'd take the Excalibur. More money, better reputation, I never had one, and I'd have basically one of each. Actually I have a Delta. I'm curious why you chose those two to pick from. stu
Hey Darcy the EX is a purdy saw a lot easier to move and the tilting head is better if you start making bowls.Take Santa to KMS. Stu
Lucky2
If possible go for the EX21 Darc, they are teriffic saws, and you usually hear of very few complaints about them. I have one and I love cutting with it, I've only ever used a Dewalt a few times, but, from what I remember about those times, I'd rather have the EX. The EX21 which is the most common one of the bunch, has lots of cutting surface. And one of it's best issues, is that the head of the saw tilts, not the table. This makes it so much easier to cut things on an angle, simply because you don't have to try to hold your wood on a tilted table, you just lay it flat. The blade changes are easy, and the tension is easy to operate also, IMO, there's nothing to not like about the EX's they are great saws. Let us know what you decide to buy<br />Len Phantom Scroller and sawdust junkie
KurtP
I would ask for the Excalibur. I have a Dewalt Type 1 and have never used an Excalibur but from what I hear they are the better saw. Kurt
Ron Johnson
I have the first generation of the Excalobur 30 and have had it for almost fifteen years with no issues either than than the odd tune up. Parts are no longer available for this one. I would more than likely replace it with another Excalibur 30 even though I don't like the muddy green color and the idea it is now made off shore. Doug
I have a DW and and EX21. They are both very good saws but the EX is my favorite and my go to saw with the DW as a backup. I got my EX at a locally owned hardwood / woodworkers supply to support a local business I frequent. If not for that I would have gotten it from Seyco just because of how everyone talks about the support Ray provides.
Wilson's Woodworking
If you are hoping in you sleigh and headed my way I would prefer the Excalibur. However I wouldn’t complain if you brought me either one of them.
Phantom Scroller
Darcy. Definitely an EX-21 because I'm bias and I love my EX-21 with all the little things it does that the Dewalt doesn't. There's the ford and then there's the ferrari. haa haa No disrespect to you Dewalt users. Roly

Sparkey
I have a DeWalt DW788 and love it. If money was not a problem I would go with the EX.
Tom J
I looked at the Dewalt and EX-21 side by side and went with the EX-21. Reasons: 1) Had an old Excalibur 19", 2) Tilting head versus tilting table, 3) Upper arm raises higher and stays up on its own without any after market attachments. As for the EX-21 versus the EX-30, the only difference is the extra 9 in. of reach and the accompanying table size. I have never found a need for the extra reach but that depends on what you are doing with the saw. Tom Phantom Scroller
Fay Prozora
If I had it my way and the greenbacks,,, I would get both.....One for a back up and one to use all the time. Right now I have a Shop Fox. Not to bad of a saw but it will do until one day I get Big Yellow or the EX... Have a great day Fay Phantom Scroller and LarryEA
