LarryEA
Welcome Julie, There's a ' little unwritten rule ' that you have to tell what kind of scrollsaw you have that hasn't arrived yet. The Excaliber, Hegner, Dewalt, Hawk, etc folks want to know so they have a little ego boost. Me... I don't care. Julie, if you like wood, scrollsawing will become more than a hobby. It 'morphs' into an addiction. A love of creating images with wood. There is much support here, take advantage of it. I would like to see you unpack but mostly I want to see a scroll work you finish. rjR
BEWARE! Becomes a life-long addiction. I think I have the record here; but, not positive. I am now on over 6 decades of sawdust making with a scrollsaw. I even still have that 60+year old saw. Everyone here will help in any way possible! This has no rivalry; just a lot of fantastiic mutual support! Ideas/ tricks/ and even "how to fix screwuips! Fish and wombatie
Bendita
Hi Julie welcome to the village just a word of caution if there is anything that needs doing do it now before you unpack that new scroll saw, there just won't be much time for it after you unpack that baby. I've been scrolling since I was 8 started out with a coping saw then once I mastered that many years later I purchased my first electric saw and the rest is history. Were sure looking forward to seeing your first master pieces good luck.

ironman123
Glad you made this decision. I am also fairly new to the village. Everyone here seems to be very nice and helpful. Which saw are you getting? Do you have a pattern that you would like to be your first peice? Enjoy and have fun. Ray
Nick@tinkers-cove
Hey Julie. Welcome to the village. If you have any pattern requests, just give me a shout. Is that Bolton Lancs UK you're in? If so, I'm just over the other side (Bridlington - East Yorks) just south of Scarborough. Kindest Regards, Nick.
