Auditioning background colors

I'm trying to figure out a nice color background for my woodpecker fret work that I did. Some one had thought a bark or some thing of such would look nice. They have some bark like fabric at Joanns so I might look there and get a piece if it looks good. Any way, if this was your, what would you chose? Here are a few pictures to get an idea... My vote is for 3,  Great work on the cutting

I personally like black for most scrolling projects because it usually stands out the best, but this one would be nice to do with  different background. I am just going to wait and see what you choose..

Very nice cutting. I prefer the black background. As for adding some natural effect around edges and as a suggestion you could glue on pieces of fungus which is available in the forest and grows at the base of trees. I've used it on a few of my projects. The fungus is like bark and very fine grass intertwined. Good thing is it's free and natural. There are other possibilities as well which I'm sure others will post

I agree with Dick and Ron. I would go with black.

Going to look at other colors, maybe even some colors of woodpeckers to see  the colors are on the bird and see if I can tape together some color paper to see how it would look. I might decide to use some resin to make it like a stained glass thing. Have a great day   Fay

This last post here is just what i would do given the chance.the colored pieces of paper i used on projects really made the project snap in focus.I like this idea of yours best!
