Bendita Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Nice work Dennis what is underlayment? I've only heard this term in carpets or is this the wooden stuff they use to level floors? Nice work though seriously Quote
cheeseburger Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Posted March 6, 2014 My name is Stephen. not Dennis lol.. And yes, this is the stuff used to level out floors. It's cheap and plentiful. and it was the thinnest stuff I could afford at the moment. and i kind of like the tight printed on grain. This stuff has a Birch Plywood Center. Quote
Wilson's Woodworking Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Very nice. You did a great job on this one. Keep it up. Quote

heppnerguy Posted March 7, 2014 Report Posted March 7, 2014 i sometimes use underlayment too, mainly for backer board but sometimes if i am doing a large piece and want something with a darker color I go for it. Wood can be a really big expense so some of us with a limited income have to make due with what we can find. your duck came out really nice, Stephen. Keep up the great work Dick heppnerguy Quote
keefie Posted March 7, 2014 Report Posted March 7, 2014 excellent work, the dark wood with a light backer really makes it stand out.  Quote
