Characteristics of Wood

This is an extension of Travis' "Wood Defects" post.
In the Wood Defects post, Travis said,'Yah, I was looking for common terms that describe desirable 'defects' like burl. Not many woodworkers are looking for cupped wood. But spalted wood is highly saught after. I'm working on a new project I think many of you'll enjoy. I can't say too much right now since I'm still ironing out the bugs.

Maybe you know what the new project is, but I don't. So just-in-case he still needs terms for wood
characteritics, here is my list:
Bear Claw
Bee's Wing
Birds Eye
Blister
Blue Stain
Burl
Cats Paw
Crotch
Curly
Flame
Mottle
Peanut Shell
Pecky (See AmazingKevins post)
Quilted
Rays
Spalted
Swirl
Wormy

There are some others like 'Stress'.
If you want a great list with discriptions and pictures, check out

Travis, what was the new project?

This was from a really old thread, but I was putting together a new website to make it easier to find wood on eBay.  You can find the finished project here:  http://www.wooddealsonline.com/

I've been working on bringing the same thing here to SSV.  It's a little more complicated with the current software, but I'm getting there.  It's on the ever expanding "To-Do" list I have.
