This craft show is small. About 15 crafters. I use the term 'crafter' loosely,

since many had their table(s) full of pre-made China teddy bears, glass novelities,

flavor beads for drinks. I was one of a few and maybe only true crafter.

Sorry, no pictures. I have always forgotten something.

I had two tables full, gear clocks (Steve Goode) old cars, animals tame and wild,

two menorah's, both sold, religious, military, and some southwestern theme. I also

had about 200 pieces of jewelry made from electronics, resistors, diodes...etc.

As usual, I get the, " I have no money to spend but you do such beautiful work."

YES I DO!

There were three things that are memorable; The lady who bought $60 worth of

items and as I told her my price on each one, she would say, your prices are too low,

I tell you, that menorah is worth twice that. Then she invited me to a craft show  at

a Jewish synagogue later this year.

Another was two ladies who insisted I give them lessons in scrollsawing.

I agreed I would spend a few hours showing the basics. Told them to visit SSV.

I may never hear from them but it was enjoyable.

The third was an older gentleman who talked wood. Talking wood is always interesting.

I have a few items to ewplace, especially menorah's.

That's it... thanks for listening.

Sounds like you had an interesting day Larry, and made a few bucks on the way. It's good when you have customers who say your prices are too cheap, but they never seem offer you a higher price. (must have been Scottish customers you had).  . That's craft work for you. Some of them don't seem to realise the amount of time and effort that goes in to making the items, not to mention the cost of materials. On the other hand, some of the more intricate items take a bit of time and if you were to charge them for your time by the hour, the price would be prohibitive, either way you just can't win, you can only compromise and most importantly enjoy the day.

It's always a good show when you have a good time. My philosophy is, if I have a good time it's a good show; if I make my application fee it's a better show; if I make money I get to by more stuff and it's a great show.
