Ole Kristian Valle
I'm a 52 year old man from Norway, but have lived half my life in the Faroe Islands. I got interested in scroll just by chance. I discovered that working with wood was something I liked, after building a doghouse. I bought a Dremel rotary tool, and after browsing other tools from Dremel, I discovered the Moto-Saw, and then I checked up reviews on youtube. Then I discovered Scrollsawing, and wanted to try. I got the scroll saw, but havent had time yet to try it. I have found some practice patterns I want to try on some 6mm plywood. Finding nice wood for projects are hard here, but I can get som skills training on plywood. I'm very excited to fire up the scrollsaw, and try. I hope I can find a lot of help and inspiration here Ole Kristian Valle Faroe Islands

I would love to see a hairy coo pattern Hello Ole. Plenty pictures of "Hairy Coos"on you tube and Google. Ole Kristian Valle
I found a small supplier of different wood today. I'm so happy for that. It was a nice old man that loved to chat, and show me around the shop. This is a hairy coo. She is called Katrina. I photographed her in Scotland in 2012
Wilson's Woodworking
One word of caution, Scroll Sawing is addicting!!!!! You start out thinking I will just do a few little projects and before you know it you have boxes and boxes of projects you have done. Just ask Amazing Kevin about that one. WELCOME to the village and I hope to see plenty of your projects posted in the bragging rights. Don’t worry about following the pattern perfectly. Just let the work flow and have fun with it. aubec
Hi and welcome to the village. Faroe Islands are beautiful, visited a few times when my Grandfather was alive as he was from the Faroes and returned there when he retired and we still have some family there. Scrolling is a great hobby and there is always plenty of advice on here. Angela
Doug
I found a small supplier of different wood today. I'm so happy for that. It was a nice old man that loved to chat, and show me around the shop. This is a hairy coo. She is called Katrina. I photographed her in Scotland in 2012 Sure would be great to have hairy coo talents when sawing, the dust mask on, and your nose starts running. Guess we can just be glad you did not have a picture of him/her doing something with another portion of the anatomy. Oh well. Welcome aboard Ole. Roly and Rob have me Googling more different things to find out what folks across the pond are saying and it looks like you will get added to the mix and you just came on board. I did have some concern about exactly what Rob was referencing when he spoke of tea and FAROESE "BUNS" and did determine he was probably referencing a bakery item. heppnerguy
I also would like to Welcome you to The Village. It seems like most to the active family members here are from across the pond. I am so happy to know this sight has reached so many people from outside America. I think it is good for everyone to make contact with people from many countries because we all find out that everyone is friendly, helpful and we all share a lot of things, even though our cultures may differ a lot sometimes. Do feel free to explore this sight and be sure to log on here often so that you can get to know us better and we have the opportunity to do the same with you. We all love it when a new comer discovers us on the internet. We hope to be getting a chance to see some of your work here. Post, read, participate and very soon you will realize that you have become a part of our family. Dick heppnerguy
Ole Kristian Valle
I did my first test cuts yesterday. It looks much easier than it is. Keeping a straight line, compensating, and over compensating etc. I need a lot of practice to master this. I'm looking forward to it though.
