jrpeteo
Made this new home for my good friend and brother in law. I tried really hard to do inlays, but in some places there would have been an inlay inside a inlay inside an inlay.... so I gave up. Ordered some 1/16" thickness from Ocooch and glued it on.Hard to see, but there is a hole in the "1" because he had achieved perfection in golf and bowling. On the two sides, it shows his intrests in Harley riding and horse racing. Cherry and walnut. Ron Johnson
Good morning Pete A very beautiful personalized urn you've done for a beloved friend and brother in law. You deserve a lot of credit honouring a family member which I'm sure had a few tears added added to the work. I'm sure the family can't thank you enough. My condolences to you and family members. jrpeteo

heppnerguy
Not only is this a beautiful tribute to your dear friend but also it is a story box too. As I look at your inlays, it tells my a lot about who he was and what he enjoyed in his life. Wonderful for many reasons Dick heppnerguy jrpeteo
oldhudson
Well thought out and nicely done!! Can you provide any construction details on the box? I wondered how the top and botton were attached and if walls of the box go into groves in the corner blocks or??? jrpeteo
jrpeteo
Well thought out and nicely done!! Can you provide any construction details on the box? I wondered how the top and botton were attached and if walls of the box go into groves in the corner blocks or??? Sure Berry, no problem. Found the plans here: http://www.woodworkingcorner.com/index.php On the left side click on "Crematiom Box". They have other plans here as well. Used biscuits for the corners, top is glued. The botton is held on by 4 screws for access. I got the cherry from a friend, and the walnut both the 1/16" for the artwork and the 1-1/2x 1-1/2 x 5 corner blocks came from http://www.ocoochhardwoods.com/ Pete Edited April 16, 2014 by jrpeteo
