penquin
Got to ask you all to bear with me a bit. Got rid of my old XP computer and got a new one with windows 8.1 on it. WOW a bit of a difference. Will be going slow for a bit but hope to be up to speed in a bit. All different ways to do stuff but interesting. jim penquin
rjR
Yeh, a learning curve for sure! I do like the expanding screen for close ups! I am old enough to remember --have used kerosene lanterns as a mina light source, so I have to learn new things.
DWSUDEKUM
I prefer win7 over win8 however 8.1 is better still. The problem as I see it is that Windows 8.* has been made for touch screen devices and most desktop units are not touch screen devices. There is a learning curve but not as bad as going from Mac to Microsoft DW

I HAVE TO RIGHT CLICK ON MOST APPS AND THEN CLICK ON OPEN. AND OTHER THINGS I TRY TO USE AS A 7 AND THAT DOESN'T WORK TOO WELL. I USE TO HATE NOW I JUST DISLIKES IT. IT'S HARD TO TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS. IKE
