What would be the best blade to make jig saw puzzles

Stu I find a No1 or 2 blade works fine and keeps the pieces a close fit, but it depends on the wood thickness and hardness.

i agree but for kid puzzles use a larger blade to get a more non precise fit,kind of slopier fit for little hands so it drops right in.Biggest problem i've had with puzzles is if the blade isn't perfectly plumb the pieces won't go together right.or come apart.
