Members total reputation???
cnkcustoms02 and 5 others reacted to Travis for a topic
Reputation is how many likes you have. So if you post some cool content like a pic of a project, good answer to a question, or some good news, people click the "Like" button and you get a Reputation point. I think the the old system had it too, but was called something else, or it was less obvious. LOL. My reputation is pretty weak compared to some members. Maybe I'm less trustworthy.6 points -
This is one of the puzzle types I've been trying to do. Each is 9x12. Two of them are 165 pieces, the other two are 140 piece puzzles (they're not easy). The top images are from a 50 cent booklet I got at the Friends of the Library bookstore, glued on with contact cement. The artist is Paul Detlefsen and the book is one in a series of 8 that I'm looking for. The wood is 1/4" 5-ply. I wasn't too happy with it. The boards were 12x24 and I had one board curl and twist like a strand of DNA, two that had a lot of internal voids, and one that actually had a football-shaped plug on both faces - something I didn't think was possible so I didn't look for it and didn't find until I was ready for glue-up. I was able to work around most of it but there should be a 5th puzzle in the set that got ruined when I stumbled on a big void. I'm building the small boxes to hold them now, and then I'll be working on a series of 10 small (4.5" x 6" ) watercolor paintings that I'll cut into approx. 20 pieces each - just something easy that someone can assemble while taking a tea break.4 points

Hello new and not so old Villagers: I'm guilty of doing this also... Just thinking out loud here, but can we give Travis a bit of breathing room on this update Yes, there are a few glitches, it's a normal process when updating, upgrading, making changes Let's give Travis time to work some of these out of the system You may want to jot down what your problem is and in a few days if it's still a problem then kindly report it In the meantime, let's enjoy what we have, grab a coffee or beverage of choice and relax It will get better - definitely on the right track Thanks everyone Just an average supporter Fab43 points

My wife does the same thing. There is no fix for it, you just have to put up with it. So far I have had no problem with my scroll saw. An EX16!!!2 points

I had so many nice posts from my being away on a two week vacation in Arizona that I almost started missing myself. Unfortunately I came to my senses ( I know that doesn't sound like somethings I could do) and thought I would send a photo of my tough day today I know life is hard sometimes. Trying to put up with only 93 degrees today and a 5 mile an hour breeze. Thought I would throw in a couple more fotos of our kids shabby place where we will be trying to find some peace. Well I finished up the cowgirl name wall hanger. It looks ok for the first time around. I have to look at my boards a little bit closer next time. The inside of the R had a tiny little crack in it and didn't notice it till I cut it out. Hoping I can glue it back in. What do you all think? I haven't really did anything with gluing before. Thanks for looking Jim1 point

A lot of the background processes finished up late last night/early morning, so I think the website should be loading pretty well. Now it's about putting things where they're supposed to be and making it pretty again. It's a struggle...they really changed how the software works. I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to get it to work the way we want it. If you're having trouble, there might be old website cache in your web browser that is conflicting with the new software. You can check out this post on how to clear that out.1 point

Wooden teddy bear orders to uk
NC Scroller reacted to blights69 for a topic
Just an update for any UK scrollers that want to buy from this store I placed order on the 9th and it arrived on the 19th so very good service I would say as the company is based in Canada. The site mentions you are liable to custom charges etc your end but I only ordered blades and they came straight to door in a jiffy bag first class may have to pay something if you ordered larger items I am guessing but for blades no problems at all.1 point -

Wonder if my Google home can open the forum now. It can turn my lights on. Love the notification bell1 point -
I saw where someone cut this traditionally, and thought I would try it on a coin. I've had several requests to put up a video of some cutting, so here is a link to some pretty raw footage. https://youtu.be/A1jp7eau9Ww I'll do a more instructional video at some point and polish it up a bit, but this should give you a feel for how this goes. I had a drill bit break off in the coin, in a tight place where there wasn't enough room for another entry hole, so there is a portion in the middle of the video where I'm working through that issue.1 point

I use weldbond also and works well fo me. I get it at the Education Center store here I think not quite the same price but a little lower and of course no shipping. I am about to run out so will remember to check prices again. I also found if something is glued and needs to be moved it can be loosed carefully either with hair dryer or Microwave. The main thing is do not rush it but sometimes it will not let go.1 point -

how many projects at once
danny reacted to Clayton717 for a topic
I've usually got a couple going. if I'm working on the lathe I've always got a scroll saw project going as well I work on it while waiting for glue or finish to dry on the turning project. I have 3 intarsia projects started and in various stages most times. As well as several turning things ready to go.I've always got several things ready whenever I get the urge to start something "new".1 point -
Hi Bernd, I need to put more effort into vets offices, etc. I have friends who own a doggy daycare and boarding place and they allowed me to put in a display. I've probably sold 10-12 puzzles thru them. One thing I'd really like to do is hook up with some dog rescue places that would like the puzzles either to sell or maybe help stimulate donations... "Donate $75 or more to our cause and get a free puzzle..." And I'd give them a deep discount of course.1 point

Wooden teddy bear orders to uk
blights69 reacted to loftyhermes for a topic
They do ship to the UK, or they did before they moved. I've had a couple of orders from them. If you order from them tell them, no catalogue it'll be quicker and cheaper, this I found out after my first order.. happy scrolling Steve1 point -
