    Protractor for You

I am both old and lazy (High School coach said I had Chinese Rheumatism. That's where all your blood turns into lead and settles in your A_____ .) Too much work to bend down and accurately set the degree of table tilt. I went to: GOOGLE - PRINT PROTRACTOR and imported that into Inkscape. Drew/traced the attached protractor. Made it 2 1/4" high. Next week I will go to a copy shop and have it laminated. Next it will be glued to an 1/8" scrap for strength. Will saw just below the bottom and sand to the bottom line. Intended to be held behind a tensioned blade when tilting the table to a desired angle. My newest version of Inkscape prints @ 100%. IF anyone wants a copy, resize as needed. jerry ProtractorOne.pdf

    Triumph Word Art

I had a chance to get back into the garage this evening and cut this out and will be taking it to the race track to show the motorcycle racers what they look like. I didn't have time to put a backer plate on it so I found some fabric my sister had and took pictures of it with the black and the red. Hope you all like it. Thanks for looking Jim

  9. hey everyone just wanted to share this with you. This is what my buddy todd a.k.a newfie cut for me a few days ago. This is my own cartoon character that I've been drawing for the pass 4 years, and I thought it would be cool to have it cut out wood, so I done the pattern and sent it to him. I think it came out great. I also attached the drawing that it came from, i just added the guitar after. Thanks again I Love It. TDpainter

    Skull

That looks just plain mean!! Great job. Was the record actually that color? I have several that are that color. Not scrolled they are worth around $180 each..... Just kidding, but wish I wasn't. One of mine has "Spunky the Monkey" on it. "I want to see the big wild world, I doodly doodly do!" Ever heard of that one!

    SSV is telling me

SSV patrons will only see the 3 banner ads at the top. Those are from our website sponsors (we only have 3, the others promote other SSV features/services). The sponsors are scroll saw related. Right now, it's Sheila Landry designs, the Lifter for the DeWalt Scroll Saw, and puzzle patterns from Dale's Puzzles. If you're not a SSV Patron, we do have a few Google Ads to help support the site. I don't have those turned on yet, but they're on my To-Do list. Those are usually on the sidebar, bottom of the page, and after the first post in a thread. There's not too many, but it helps.

  12. they just wouldn't listen to what i'm telling them. One kept changing her mind .I went thru all her changes one by one showed her the pattern and still after she agreed she would disagree and want something else changes ...i told her three different times enough is enough, finally i had to put my foot down .the other one was just as bad but i could see it coming and never answered her back.i don't need to go back and forth like this .

Thanks go to Don for this pattern. This is the only piece I have completed so far this year. It is Patsy Cline and it's cut from 3mm Hoop Pine. Sorry I can't remember what blade I used. Hope you like it. Comments welcome, good or bad. Marg

  31. Great work, Dave, I'd say the cutting is more relaxing than shredding but, I enjoyed seeing it. One of the bands I played in long ago opened for Dolly Parton. I was the lead vocalist in a lot of bands and play rythme guitar. Just a little bit of lead guitar. Mostly country and country/rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  34. For all of you who cut (or want to cut) old records, I was just in a pawn shop the other day and they had a big box of records (I had never heard of most of the artists) for like $12~15. Probably 50 or so albums in there. So, if you are looking for cheap stock, a pawn shop or even a Goodwill might be a good place to look. Happy Hunting!

  35. I found some albums at a goodwill for a dollar a piece. I checked out on google if the ones I bought had any value. One was worth $15. Not cutting it LOL

    Something simple to make

When my daughter was little.. she had me cut stars and half moons etc and also a large letter H as her name is Hannah... she didn't want me to finish them as she wanted to color them.. she colored them with markers.. that was quite a few years ago as that was when she was maybe 1st grade or around then.. she still has them.. and she is graduating high school end of May.. I didn't think the markers would work too well on them and figured I would be sanding them down and painting them.. but they colored fine and held up quite well over the years.. of coarse they are inside on her wall and the big H hangs on bedroom her door.. whatever you decide to make.. if the kids take care of them the cuttings could last them a lifetime..
