    Mustang on the hook

My next older brother has a Mustang GT 5.0. Paul tried to get me to buy a Camero SS so we could have us a drag race. Keep in mind he is 75 and I am 72. Can't you just see the look on a cops face if he caught us? Anyway it didn't happen I like my Buick Enclave just fine. I'm into making toy cars and trucks and such so I made a tow truck and a Mustang. The pair are for a grand nephew which is also Paul's great grandson. I think Paul will get a kick out of the Mustang on a hook.

    Rose Trivet

A Steve Good pattern that included initials, but decided not to include initials. Maybe this should be called 'Four Roses Trivet'. I used 1/2" Cherry approximately 6" in diameter. Not shown, but there are three plastic round feet on the bottom. I used FD UR #3 blades. The finish is sanding sealer, sanding, and one coat of spray Shellac. Comments welcome.

    Candle Tray

This is a Steve Good pattern listed in his newsletter last week. I used 2 1/4 degrees for the bevel cut. This raised each piece by 1/4". I used 1/2" Mahogany approximately 7 1/2" square and FD UR #3 blades. The finish is sanding sealer, sanding, and one coat of spray Semi Gloss Polyurethane. Comments welcome.

  9. I think I read in one of the other forum related to the upgrade. I think the answer was no. They cycle out by themselves. Found it: "I don't think you can delete them. I think they just cycle through now. So new notifications push off the old ones. When you click the Notification's button, you should see the newest ones at the top. Once you look, the pink button with the number should disappear. Let me know if that's not working for you."

    My Hegner Modifications

Over a period of time I have made a few changes, or I like to think improvements to my Hegner Multi-Max 22V. Thought I would share them with other owners. First pictures shows how I cut off the cast boss and relocated the upper arm stop to allow the upper arm to raise higher and changed to a lighter spring. Next I raised the hold down arm and installed a longer rod for the hold down. Next I made and installed a sawdust catcher under the table. At the bottom inside of the wood part I installed a piece of 1/4" hardware cloth to catch the bottom blade clamp when a blade breaks. Lastly I made and installed a blade rack. These modifications have made the saw a little more user friendly.

    Help With Clock

You don't have to carve out the back of the wood if you do not have the tools and equipment.. but they do hang on the wall closer to the wall if you do carve out the back. A tip to carve out the back if you do not have a router... I have a large set of forstner drill bits.. I sometimes use ( I believe ) a 3" forstner bit to drill out the area where the clock will set to set the clock into the wood some so it's not sticking way out the back making the clock hang out away from the wall some.. but like I said.. you don't have to do this as you can buy whatever length shaft you need.. Here is a guide for wood thickness to help you decide on shaft length: 1/2" For 1/8" thick material 5/8" for 1/4" thick material 3/4" for 3/8" material 7/8" for 1/2" thick material 1" for 5/8" thick material 1-1/4" for 3/4" thick material This was taken from the web site where I buy my clock motors.. Hope that helps you, Kevin

  18. While reviewing the forum and some of the posts about the changes to the forum with the update - I had an idea - while we wait for Travis to "fix" some of the things behind the scenes - why don't we share features and tools that we find/figure out so others can know too. Also, we can use this same thread to "ask" where something is or how it works if we need help with it. That way we help each other out in learning how to better function in the updated forum. Sound Good? For example - I used to could mark the sub forums "read" but had not seen how to mark the entire site "read" - (not saying it wasn't there - but I never figured it out. ) Now, you can easily mark the entire site as "read" Look up along the top right below the search area - there is now a "Unread Content" and "mark site as read" (its also at the bottom of the page). If you click on the "Mark site as Read" - it will now do that. Also, check out the "Unread Content" - click on that - you then get a page with all the content you have not yet "read" - It will show you posts from last hour, earlier today, then yesterday, etc. then there is an area above the posts where you can add in choices on what you want to show - content type, read status, ownership, etc. to let you pick and choose some items to see. Then just below that bar to the right is a "Results as" and you can choose "Expanded" or "Condensed" - click on each to see the difference in what is shown. Expanded shows the text of the post made. Condensed shows the post title and original poster and who replied to it but not any of the actual reply. I think this will be helpful to me as when I come onto the forum, I used to hit every sub forum to see what was newly added since I last visited - now I can just go here and see and read. I think I would use the "expanded" results. Now - about those notifications though . . . . .

  19. @Jim Finn what you are describing as seeing in the extreme top right sounds like what I showed as seeing from my iPad when in vertical or "page" length - here is what I see from there - does it match what you are describing as seeing on your Windows 10 computer? If so, if you "hover" pointer over each of those - does it show anything. As I listed if I click on the far right 3 lines - I get a drop down menu with choices of things. Just above all of that I see the envelope and the bell everyone references. Try that and see if you see all of that. The magnifying glass icon is to search with - click on that and search bar area should open up to input terms to search for. The "page" with the horizontal lines with the box around it (reminds me of a folded up newspaper) - if you click on that it should show you all the recent activity - by past hour, then earlier today, then later, etc. to the top right side you have the option to show it in the "Expanded view" which shows the full details of each of the "posts" made - if you click on "Condensed" it will just show the title of the post, name of person who replied, name of person who started original post/thread being replied to, and the sub-forum it is in. What Internet browser are you using when you access the forum? If @Travis knows what browser you are using that might help as well. I am not sure if there is a way for different browsers to let you "pick" which way you see it or not. Not sure why one would default to this view over the other general one that most of the rest of us see. This shows what most of us are seeing in the top right corner when accessing from a computer.

    Flea Market sales

Well I went to my Favorite Flea Market yesterday,1st Time on a Saturday.Calling for rain today.got there early, set up,It was like a Ghost Town.I was in my usual spot, normally not all by myself. My Wife and I was dumb founded.Other finders were there but at least 100 yards away, finally a few people started walking around, but no one was coming down my way, I was the only one down there.I finally moved all my stuff down with the rest, and even with the VERY LOW crowd I walked out over a $100.I was happy with that.all the yrs I have been going there I have never seen it that bad. Then it hit me,Last of the mth.

  49. Another neat feature I found, you can tag other members. All you have to do is type the @ symbol, then start typing their name. A popup window will show up with the list of folks with that name. Just click on the person you want to tag. When you post, their name will link to their profile. If you hover over their link, a popup with some basic stats shows up. Plus, they'll be notified that they were tagged in a post. Thanks @wombatie, this is a fun thread. I'm finding stuff all the time.

  50. Check out your profiles. They are much cooler than before. I also turned on a feature where you can upload a cover photo, just like on Facebook. And to step it up a notch, if you have either your Facebook or Twitter account attached, you can set it to automatically update your profile picture and cover photo (depending on which you have set to update). I think that's pretty cool. Plus, you have your regular profile info, your activity feed, your status updates, and your gallery/albums.
