    A few more done

This summer has been the pits her in Canada's capital, so not much time on the golf course but I can always go and make some sawdust. Got 2 more cheese cutters done and a Poodle Wood used for the cheese cutters are : Walnut, Maple Mahogany and Zebra wood. I applied 3 coats of bees wax buffing between each coat, ready for some cheese. Poodle was cut using oak and painted black for show.

    My Mini Sunflowers

After making the 2ft sunflowers, someone asked for a smaller version, these are just 101/2" in diameter, constructed the same as the 2ft ones except I had to plane down a board to 3/8" to cut out the brown centers otherwise it would of looked too chunky.......green leaves are 1/4" luan......spray can paint for all...... I think they brighten my yard up some..... comments always welcome. Thank You

  6. Summer Santa is coming tomorrow! He arrives in a big brown truck wearing brown shorts and shirt and he's making a special delivery to Iggy because he's been a good boy... well, he hasn't been mean for a few hours... A brand new Hawk saw will be on his brown sleigh... Counting down the hours... Can't come soon enough, I'm down to my emergency back-up DW788... it sure is cutting smooth compared to the one I recently wore out.

  9. Iggy, congrats on a good looking saw. I have always been curious about the Hawks. Never touched one, would like to get the chance to take one for a spin someday. Do not try to compare it to a DeWalt, I know enough to know it is a completely different saw, just like my Hegner is completely different from the Dewalt, Ex and Seyco that I have owned (still own the Seyco). Took me a while to get use to it, now I love it. It is a saw I will not part with. I'm sure you will gain the same respect for your Hawk.

  12. I need to correct myself. It's been a long time since I did a pattern for Intersecting Word Art. Plus my memory is so bad that I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. Near the end of Line 3 above, You select the GRAY, hold SHIFT and Select the other word (I think it's the large word, but don't have time to try it now.) My Bad !!

    ink scape frustration

I have had that happen to me also. I found the I just missed a step. It helps to make a cheat sheet of the steps and keep it handy.

  14. I have had that issue with my Hegner when I first got it .I just could not get used to the swinging top clamp. At 74 YO my fingers don't work like they used to .Lucky Hegner had a speed clamp modification that works really well and it makes the top clamp rigid and it loads like the EX

    My Mini Sunflowers

I like them in both sizes. Have you considered a stand-alone model with a slightly curved stem? Maybe something out of cedar or redwood that could be jammed into the ground.

  23. Oh crap, I better hop on Amazon and find a quick-ship windmill!!! It likely won't come until late in the day tomorrow, so I may not get a chance to set it up until Saturday after the farmers market...

  24. Are you ready? Did you clear out a space in the workshop for it? Rewire the shop yet? You do realize that it's made in Kansas. It won't work with a normal 110v outlet - you need to hook it up to a windmill - I'm pretty sure I read that on their FAQ page.
