  1. Friend of mine has had a 57 Chevy ever since high school... well a couple years ago another friend from school who owns a local body shop in town bought it and redone the whole car and updated it with all modern power train etc.. anyway.. he just finished it two weeks ago.. I stopped into his shop yesterday to order some parts for a project I am working on.. today my parts are supposed to come in.. so last night I went out in the shop and made this desk clock for him to put on his desk at the shop. Cut this from 5/8" Cherry.. will see if he likes it later today when i go to pick up the parts.

    Sue Mey Cross on Coin

This is the my first coin I've cut on the Hawk BM. The Pattern was purchased from Sue Mey. I was curious is the Hawk could do it, but it cuts this type of thing pretty well. The coin was a once U.S. bronze one dollar, that I flattened to .025" and is about 2" tall.

  7. I've had a couple of customers ask about a mermaid which wasn't available, so I asked Harvey to draw one up for me. I sent him a general design and had him work his magic and here is the result. I'll display it this Saturday for the first time.

  9. Received my new tent today along with a new banner I ordered for the top. Looks great in my opinion, what do you think? I also tested a new table layout for events in which I only have my 10'x10' space with vendors right up against me on both sides. Very happy with the layout and plenty of room for people on both sides.

    Bird House

I met Gerald several years ago then found out he lives 1/10th of a mile from me. We talked a few weeks ago and found out he has a hobby... he catches moles. I invited him over and he caught 3 moles in 4 days. Our yard has been mole-free for over 2 weeks now. I made him a Bluebird house to show my appreciation. It's Eastern red cedar.

Howdy All. I'll be heading out on vacation back to my home state of Montana. I won't be in the middle of the woods without internet like last month, but I'll be hit and miss throughout the week while I visit friends and family. So if I don't get back to you right away, you'll know why. Have a good week filled with sawdust!

  15. A couple weeks ago Sasho posted a picture of a Superman trinket box. It caught my eye so I had to make one for myself but changed it up a bit. Last Friday I posted a picture of my project giving Sasho credit for inspiring me. My granddaughter saw my finished Superman box and told me that I needed to make a Batman box..........of coarse, I had to make it and got it done on Friday. Today at lunchtime I got a message from Sasho via FaceBook with a picture of a Batman box almost identical to the one I had just completed, with a message telling me that it might inspire me to make one of these. How Crazy!

  17. Yeah Inlay as been on my to learn list every year for the past 6 or 7 but I always put it off to try something else. I even got a EX21 so that I could do Inlay better, but the only way I can get better is if I bite the bullet and do one first. I love your work and obviously you and Sasho are on the same wave length. Great work once again my friend. Marg

    Sue Mey Cross on Coin

Kevin, I should have had my credit card in place, but I didn't. Even on the EX which does not have the slot, I usually have the zero clearance card in place. The danger is not the long slot, but the big hole where the blade is (which is the same on any saw). Without support, if the blade "catches", it can bend thin metal right down into the hole . . . . which stinks. I was so excited to cut on a saw with very low blade travel, I forgot the card, until the end where I was sweating out the final thin remaining pieces. I lucked out.

    Food Coloring

Yes, I sell them as READY TO PAINT! Added fun for the kiddos. I even offer a little watercolor set, but everyone says they already have plenty of paints at home. This was the last time displaying the painted ones but shows the new variety of unpainted ones I'm making.

    EX Maint.

I bought my EX about a year ago.So I am guessing it is about 3 years old So I figured i would do a little Maint.on it.I replaced the Top blade clamp.Don't think I needed it While I had it apart i repacked all of the needle bearings on the front of the saw.Just what everybody was talking about EX does have greased bearings So all of the bushings looked good.Did not tear the back end apart.I think I will wait on that.A little more complicated.its not broke so I will leave it.Looking at my 19 year old Hegner sitting next to it I figured It was do for Maint..So 4 drops of 3 in1 oil did the trick.Good for 2 more weeks
