  1. Received my new tent today along with a new banner I ordered for the top. Looks great in my opinion, what do you think? I also tested a new table layout for events in which I only have my 10'x10' space with vendors right up against me on both sides. Very happy with the layout and plenty of room for people on both sides.

  2. Friend of mine has had a 57 Chevy ever since high school... well a couple years ago another friend from school who owns a local body shop in town bought it and redone the whole car and updated it with all modern power train etc.. anyway.. he just finished it two weeks ago.. I stopped into his shop yesterday to order some parts for a project I am working on.. today my parts are supposed to come in.. so last night I went out in the shop and made this desk clock for him to put on his desk at the shop. Cut this from 5/8" Cherry.. will see if he likes it later today when i go to pick up the parts.

  3. Did a couple of Farm animals and the triangle bowl in the last issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking Magazine. I used Western red cedar for the horse, oak for the cow and Cherry for the bowl

  4. I just finished this a few minutes ago. I want to thank Dave Monk for making the pattern for me. It's a little longer than Dave's because I made the bottom a little longer to hold the cast iron cat hooks that I was able to fine, since my Granddaughter loves cats. It's 18 inches long and 12 inches high and made out of 3/4 Oak using a #3 reverse blade. Thanks again Dave for the pattern.

    Glue for patterns

I use regular craft glue sticks. I stock up this time of year when the school supplies are on sale. I use this method because I don't like the fumes of spray glue.

  6. I thought it was about time for me to add dust collection to my saw now that I have a quiet Festool Midi vacuum. I used 3/4 Loc-Line at the suction ends(.Amazon). The rest is PVC pipe and fittings from Lowes. I added a trap for those times when it sucks up that small piece you needed. The trap is not in the bottom picture as I just added it. I mounted the contraption to a piece wood and made it easily removable with a couple of Mag switches. I don't need to use my blower at all, the vac picks it all up. The vacuum comes on with my foot switch.

    Shipping Intarsia

I have shipped many Intarsia pieces. I wrap in Bubblewrap, and pack tightly in a box so that it can not move. I have also used FedEx to ship larger pieces in what they call and Artists box. Have not had any pieces break to date.

    Glue for patterns

I use the cheapest generic spray glue they sell at walmart. no idea what the brind is. Spray a super light coat in the back of the paper, super light coat, like 1 second for the whole pattern. Now wait a few minutes so it is just barely tacky. Picture a post it note amount of stickiness, thats almost too much but will work. apply it to the wood. It will stay on just fine and peel right off when done.

    Glue for patterns

There are a lot of different ways of doing this. Don't thing there is a right or wrong way. 3m 77 works, so does just about any spray glue. Glue sticks. Even watered down white glue. All methods have pro's and con's. Some glue the pattern to the wood, some to tape, shelf lining, ect. Some go the extra step of clear packing tape over everything. I believe it holds the pattern better and is said to lubricate the blade. Try different ways see what works for you.

    A few more things done

Nice pieces. Got off the phone a while ago with my son. Part of the conversation was about how much his wife liked wooden bowls, and be nice if I fired up my lathe.. Your picture reminded me I don't need to use a lathe to make nice bowls.... Thanks.

    Glue for patterns

I put my patterns on the good face of the wood. Painters tape peels off pretty easy, just be careful around the "fragile" areas of your work.

    Glue for patterns

No matter how much i sand i can never get all the glue off so painter tape will save a lot of fuss

3m 77 can be purchased at Home Depot or lowes, also some strollers purchase shelf lining at amazon or Walmart and glue there pattern to that, RJ

    Dog Memory Wings

That is a neat memorial. When you have to have a pet put down at our vets, they give you a small plaster casting of the animals paw print and it's name. I'm thinking it would be neat to make a frame with the wings that the cast world fit into, would be a nice way to display them. I may give it a try.

    Dog Memory Wings

That came out great Dan. Perhaps if you had the name of the dog you add that as either a drop down bit or lower the paw a bit and cut the name right above it. Like I said before that came out great. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW

    Dog Memory Wings

Very nice way to remember a pet, but like Jim - I would like to have room to add in the dog's name and maybe the year. Did you create the pattern?

    Tree Illusion.

After further study of the pattern I found 10 additional faces. Using the criteria of having at least 3 of 4 face features, eye, nose mouth chin, for a total of 20. In addition I found 2 coyote heads on the bottom of the ground right bellow the tree trunk. John Old Dust
