    Baby dragon and Elk

Saw this on Alex Fox's site and just had to cut it. Stack cut three on 1/8th inch BB plywood 12 x 13 inches. Oiled one and Jan painted one. Also liked the Elk pattern, so cut it as well. 12 x 15 inches 1/8th BB plywood. Jeff

  3. Hi ya! Since i got my health back i'm into too many things that need my long lost attention.I'm still wasting time at one last doctor,he butchered me bad today i was fine till i seen him.I'm going to file a complaint as my general doctor said i should.Any way I'm doing projects and am air headed to take pictures and nice ones too.My thinking is way ahead of my doing ,but i'll get it together soon .I'm a new man now and it will take some adjusting too.A nice job came in and i got the deposit and as i finish each project more are waiting,It's the lady who got the beautiful tree of life that's loading me up with scrolling jobs.Anyway here's one that didn't get away.10.5"tall letters on blue painters tape saying "What's your Utopia ?12' long

  4. The pattern is by Sheila Landry and purchased from her website. I used 1/2" Aspen approximately 8" x 8" and FD UR #1 blades. This one took hours to cut. I didn't count the frets, but it mush be over 200. Comments welcome.

  5. I tried the blue painters tape on the wood and glue the pattern to the tape today and I must say I have never had a pattern come off so easy in my life. No more scraping patterns with my pocket knife no more getting hot fingers while trying to loosen the pattern with a hair dryer. I should have found this forum years ago.

    New guy from Iowa

Just joined here. I'm from Iowa and have been using a scrollsaw for the past 20 years. I have a 26 inch RBI Hawk that I bought in 1996 new. Never had any trouble with it and have used it a lot. The pictures are some of the signs I have been making the last few years.

    New guy from Iowa

They are made from 1/2 inch hobby plywood from Menards. That's the only place I can find it. My wife and I have ridden Harley's for the last 16 years. 2 years ago we bought a Harley trike (bad knees) hence the name oldmansbike.

16" EX saw F/S on CL.

You don't see a good scroll saw for sale around here very often. If your close to Franklin, Tn. this might be a good deal for you. https://nashville.craigslist.org/tls/d/excalibur-16-scroll-saw-used/6255288660.html

Yep, I did get the viking pattern. But I am working on the giraffe right now. Darn you beating me to the Viking! I can't wait to see it. I have a little story to go with the Giraffe, but I will save it for when I post my finished product.

    Baby dragon and Elk

Holy Cow!! I got that baby dragon pattern the other day from ALex as his freebee for buying X many patterns. I did not pay much attention to it, but now, I want to cut it. Awesome job and wow and wow on the painted one! That elk is pretty darn cool also. I am working on an Alex pattern as one of my current projects.

    Blue painters tape

Welcome! Glad to see a new face now and again. Everyone gets tired of reading stuff from Iggy. Depending on how much you scroll and the size of your patterns, clear shelf liner paper is just as good as blue painters tape and is a lot cheaper. I use massive amounts of it. I used to order it from Amazon but they stopped carrying the 12" wide so I started ordering from Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Clear-Laminate-Peel-and-Stick-Shelf-Liner/16224481

    Animal Puzzles Finish

I forgot to answer your question... mineral oil does not make them darker, but it does bring out the grain and natural color in the poplar. Here are ones I just cut and have drying... Every time I go to Lowes/Home Depot for wood I look for varying light and dark pieces. Some animals look better in a darker tone.

  36. A school of mermaids. Great work for one day. Your scroll saw issues fixed no need to answer just checked your update. I don't think I will buy a hawk looks like they have a quality control issue. Good luck on resolving your issues. I
