I also went to the show and spend some money on a little wood. Took my camera and proved I am not skilled with it.

  3. Made the cougar cause I love big cats. The horses I made as a cousin of mine was one of the two princesses along with the queen that represented the calgary stampeded in 2016, they travelled the world and I thought this was symbolic of her year. The horses are cut and framed with mahogany.

  5. The font is Arial Black or heavy but it has been made into a stencil. I could not find as a stencil font so maybe Steve added his own bridges. The attached is the font at 64 points - close but need the bridges and work VY too close.

  7. So I finally had a weekend off from racing so I thought I would try to torch some race tracks that I had cut out. This is just using a propane torch kit I bought at Lowes today. And now I have put 3 coats of spray on clear coat and this is how they look. This is on 3/4" oak plywood. Thanks Jim

  8. With one week to go til my big event "Lazy Daze", I have what should be very close to my official tally of what I have cut the past 3 months in preparation for the event. Next week is devoted to cutting kids puzzles and I've included the number I plan on cutting. See attached for the final count... it's pretty crazy... and a picture of them all... My goal was to have 500... I'm a bit of an overachiever at times... or just a fool... Now I just need 1/2 of 1% of the attendees of the event to buy a puzzle from me to hit my sales goal. I'll start a thread next week and we'll have a contest to guess how many I sell. The 10 day weather forecast looks fabulous as of right now. Hope it stays true. Here is the breakdown of the duplicates I'm taking... Top 12 items I have 10+ of each. SEVEN HUNDRED PUZZLES... I'm worn out Lazy Daze Puzzle Count.pdf Iggy

    Thanks Everybody!

Hi All. Thanks to everybody who filled out the SSV survey. I found it very helpful. This helps me identify areas of improvement and other areas which I probably shouldn't mess with. Thanks! You guys are awesome!

I'd ask to start it up and give it a go and see how it worked, sounded, etc. Take a piece of wood and some blades to make sure you have what you need to give it a whirl. I think a lot of people buy these and like he said with his - use it very few times - especially if you don't know that its harder to do when you are first starting out - especially if you are expecting to saw a straight line. Like others said - see if he will take less.

I got a used one for $175, and it is a model 1. It has been working well for me, but I don't use it a lot. The only way to tell is to test it with a blade and some wood. Give it a good run, using different speeds, and listen for odd noises and too much vibration. The model number is on the plate on the motor. The older models were made in Canada and the model 2 were made in China. The claim is the ones made in Canada probably had better quality control.

  31. I expect to have a couple dozen left over. LOL Nah, my goal is to sell 200-250, but I simply don't want to run out of anything so I went overboard. I don't want to have to say "Oh, sorry, I don't have any more XYZ breed of dog with me..." My experience so far is that puzzles are purely an impulse buy... if I don't have it, they won't order it.

  34. Hey Brian, it's a popular one for me that's why I wanted to find similar ones. I have 12 kids puzzles that I currently display, I sold 7 today and 10 last week. I have 3 more design I'll be making this week for a total of 15 and I'm taking 10 of each for Lazy Daze. By the way, if the weather forecast holds true, it is going to be PERFECT weather... it's normally 90-95 degrees and right now it's expected to be 83 each day and sunny. I look forward to meeting you in a week.
