  1. My wife and I never buy each other gifts .........the only thing we really need is tools. I came up with this idea that I thought would be fitting for an anniversary gift to give her. Very simple pattern but I love the message.

  2. First off a Family sign cut from the side of an old bookcase. Pattern is by Steve Good. I sold one of these last time so I am hoping this will sell too. Next is a Sun plaque from a pattern by Bobscroll. And finally a Resting Stag from a pattern by Bigdogskitten11. Thanks for looking. Rob

  4. I wasn't planning on cutting any more this week, but I received 3 custom orders this past Saturday and Harvey got them to me quickly and it gave me an opportunity to do a real test of the Hawk. First 2 puzzles cut out of poplar. Meet Duke and Luky (yes, Luky, pronounced 'Lukee"). I haven't oiled them yet as I have one more to cut either this evening or in the morning. I also tested the new Pegas Modified Geometry blades in a size #3... they are thin... thinner than the Olson Mach Speed #3 I usually use. Overall, a grade of A+ so far. The saw and the blades did great. It's definitely slower cutting than I'm used to, but actually, I kind of like it, it's more relaxing and I hope to stick to a schedule of 5 puzzles per day as opposed to the 10 a day I've been doing the past 3 months in advance of my event this weekend. The saw ran well, it turns sharper than the DeWalt by far and I feel very comfortable using it. Bottom feeding and blade changing are easier than I expected and I'm almost as quick with it as I was with the DeWalt. The Pegas blades are fantastic. I think the #3 wears out a little faster being thinner, and that's OK, I just have to be sure to swap them out rather than try to force them. I'm very happy right now. Iggy

    Bracelets

Last week on Thursday I felt like making a bracelet as I don't wear a watch anymore with the fact that I carry a work and personal smartphone . These are a mix of domestic and exotic. Wood Made a mini one for my 5 year old son cause you know he has got to have one of everything I cut The pics suck cause I lost daylight. Getting great comments at work and a few on the train...

  19. Keep an eye on it and go see a Doctor if it doesn't start getting better soon. Glad it didn't hit you in the head! My FIL did that once - luckily it was a smaller branch. Prayers for your healing.

  21. OK, now I'm beyond honored... I emailed Steve yesterday thanking him for sharing my videos and since he'd mentioned wondering what my booth setup looked like, I included some pictures... Well he wrote an amazing little article on his site this morning... and amazingly he was right about everything he guessed and assumed... I do take blades with me to show people, I do have a stockpile of pre-wrapped duplicates behind the tables, etc, etc. I'll be making a video Saturday morning as I setup for my weekend event. http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/

  35. im with ike, a #5 or #7 polar blade if it was me, but you could use a skip tooth, or even ultra reverse if the urge hit ya. My preference is the skip tooth or polar blade. which ever cuts the bets. Pay attention in your pine. the blade may have a tendency to follow the grain of the of the wood.

    PDF to JPG

irfanview is a free photo editor and it's got a lot of good stuff. Conversion is as simple as opening a pdf in irfanview, and saving as a jpg. If you're wanting to do patterns later on, irfanview is good for taking a picture and easily converting to b/w or eliminating the background one shade at a time to make it simpler to manipulate in inkscape or gimp.

    PDF to JPG

I just tried this online tool and it worked. Apparently it will only do 1 or 2 pages at a time unless you sign up and pay, but if you're doing single page pdf's, you might be able to keep using it. :-) https://docs.zone/pdf-to-jpg

    Bracelets

Thanks! The way I seem to go I bet I will make 40-50 of these before I get tired of making them for a while. The trick is cutting my stock thin enough. My table saw is not commercial\ industrial grade... Lots of smoke.... Good thing I wear a half mask
