  1. Big Canoe Woodworkers Club Donates 100 Puzzles to “Toys for Tots” November 10, 2017 On opening day for the Pickens County(GA)Toys for Tots program, the Big Canoe Woodworkers Club donated 100 wooden puzzles for the local Toys for Tots campaign. Several members made the puzzles under the guidance of Brian Beals with Pickens Puzzles LLC, also a member of the club. Others in the club donated wood for the puzzles. Pictured are Chuck Fleming with the Toys for Tots program, Claude Drevet, Terry Nicholson, Brian Beals, Cecil Schneider, and Amy Brannon-Hamby with the Toys program. Yours truly is the one holding the butterfly puzzle. bb

    Bowl

Nice job! I just love scroll saw bowls. I think they are one of the most difficult things to make and have them end up looking good. Ive turned quite a few bowls and I think turning a bowl,is a breeze compared to scrolling one.

  7. Been scrolling somewhere like thirty years , have been on several forums though all this time . Like the news and patterns and maybe I'll get back in this again , just so busy working full time and just trying to keep my hobby/customers up to par .But I'm retiring March 1st of 2018 and I told the wife I will get caught up on all my scrolling projects and when it when it happens would like to get a day or two a week job . Anyway cheers Marshall

    Cute and Simple...

That's how Mrs. Iggy describes me... But take a look at this... I thought it was cute and will make a few for my upcoming shows. And I'm including the pattern, it was a freebie from a friend. Iggy Nativity.pdf

  11. Looks very very close. If it isn't the slight off could be just where I slid the top of the blade into the clamp when I clamped it and or how centered and perpendicular I got the bottom when I clamped it in. I'd be tempted to take a picture and send it to Advance Machinery if I were you. Maybe there is something wrong and they need to make it right. You know the top clamp should not be tight in the holder. It should have a tiny bit of play. When I first got my Heg, I tightened the big thumb nut down on the clamp and had all sorts of trouble, broke many blades, then I read the instructions, backed it off a little and have loved the saw ever since.

  13. i think you are correct and I also think it would be neat to make different scenes in some, like Santa and a Christmas tree, or snowpersons something along those lines, like mini-schwibbogens thingies,,,

  29. I have glued 1/8" pieces together and it came out nice. One thing to get them to come out right is don't clamp them very tight. I think using the wedges would be enough.

  31. Do not trust sites like best advisers. We have the U.S. counterpart to these kinds of sites (like scrollsawreviews.com) which are a joke. These folk don't know anything about scroll saws except what they read in other peoples reviews. Check out the scrollsaw reviews on this site, which will give you a much better idea. Only trust a scroller to review a scroll saw.
