So Neptune posted this pattern awhile back in the new pattern thread. I loved it the moment I saw it. Here is what l did with it. Asian acacia engineered flooring sample, backed by a babies crib board, framed with a babies crib frame. Love the pattern, also love how this turned out. Thanks Neptune! It's heavy!!!!6 points

Having fun in Florida
Lucky2 and 4 others reacted to scrollerpete for a topic
It is real nice to be able to scroll outside and having the sun keeping you warm, but not for this week coming. We have a cold front moving in and the temperature next week around high 40 and low 50 a heck better that at my home in Ottawa Canada. Any way here is some of the stuff that I cut last week.5 points -
Duke inspired me to cut one after seeing the one he recently shared. This was a custom request by one of my pattern customers. Harvey drew it up for him and I really like it. And Mrs. Iggy just demanded that I make one for her. LOL I'll get Harvey to personalize for me with CAROLINA BEACH and KURE BEACH.4 points

Yessiree, got er done. I've tried a milk-house heater, small propane heater and a parabolic heater all without much luck. The worst part in addition to being ineffective I always had to step around them which is a PITA in a small shop. The shop is 1/3 partitioned off in a two car garage. One wall is common with the kitchen, two walls are common to the garage and one outside wall with window. All walls are insulated. I direct the heater towards the outside window wall. I suspended the heater so it can be rotated . Many of the heaters I looked at were more expensive and many did not come with cord, thermostat or on/off switch. Those were a bit higher wattage and had to be wired with a cord and plug. This little unit is ready to be plugged in. Just mount a 220 outlet. Temperature was about 45 degrees. With the garage door up and the double doors in the shop open it warmed the shop up to60 degrees in about 15 minutes. Of course it was trying to heat the garage too.2 points

Set up my EX-21 On A Excalibur Stand Today
Scrolling Steve and one other reacted to kmmcrafts for a topic
I bought an actual Excalibur stand back in Dec. and now with being sort of caught up.. I went out today and swapped stands from the Harbor Freight stand I had that was too small and actually light weight compared to the actual EX stand.. I haven't cut anything on it yet as I had to come in and warm up.. but anyway I did plug it in and run it through the speed ranges.. very smooth running now.. I have a couple orders to cut so maybe I'll try it out.. Might have to play around with the adjustable legs.. I put them all at the highest level as my stool is a tall one.. I like a tilted saw too.. so I'm sure I'll be changing this up some before I get it all dialed in.. Now that there isn't much vibration.. I'm kinda excited to give it another try2 points -
Last year I came up with the CAROLINA BEACH sea turtle and the KURE BEACH dolphin. They were very popular here on our island. So, I had Harvey flip flop them and also had him do mermaids for each town. This is the result. I also have mermaids for SOUTHPORT and WILMINGTON (nearby beach and city). I'll have an entire area on my display tables devoted to these tourist/specialty items I also had Harvey do the Pelicans for me for each town. I'll cut them tomorrow.2 points

Finally found a little saw time.
Smudger and one other reacted to Chunkthekid for a topic
Here is the first completed cut of the new year. It is my first time stack cutting something this detailed but it went just fine. The wood is 1/8 cherry? I think. FD 2/0 spirals. I'm not sure how I will frame them yet. I finally found a roll of the adhesive shelf tape that so many people on the site have recommended, and THANK YOU. It will be the only thing I use for fret work from now on. The pattern came off in less than 3 minutes and all in one piece except for one tiny sail.2 points -
Something New For The New Year - Scroll Saw Challenge
heppnerguy and one other reacted to orangeman for a topic
Does this count? This month I am conducting 3 scroll saw workshops in my shop for a maximum of 4 attendees each time. Open to all 40 members of our community's woodworking club which consists of 40 members. I've done 2 so far and one more to go. Covers the basics of scroll saw tune up, blade selection, wood selection, planning the cut, sanding tips, and finishing tips. Attendees get to cut out a puzzle on one of my 3 saws. I provide a handout with tips and resources. Plus some patterns they can use to make puzzles for our local Toys for Tots Program. I have never taught anything before and it seems to be going well.2 points -

Glad you got things worked out. With the temps around here lately I had to use a small electric heater in my shop. Makes a huge difference when in there for a long time.2 points -

Guardian Eagle -- Finished!
heppnerguy reacted to Scrappile for a topic
I'm am adding this here from the "Works in Progress" forum hoping to get some more comment. I'm thinking about donating this to the "Friends of the NRA" banquet along with the 2nd Amendment plaque they request from me. I'd like to add some red, white and blue some where to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. "Completed the cutting of this picture called "Guardian" and is a Charles Hand pattern. I've been playing around with it and the backer. Someway I want to do the backer/frame in red, white and blue. like the American flag. Not quite sure if that is going to work out or not. I have sorta/kinda a picture in my pea brain, but not sure how to work it out."1 point -

Glad you got a steal of a deal on a great saw. Looking forward to hearing more and seeinfpg some projects soon with it. No excuses with that kinda weather.1 point
-
Congratulations on the new saw Ray, I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. As for the weather we in the 40's here, so I guess it could be worse.1 point

Really happy for you, Ray. I think after some getting use to it, you will love the saw. I sure do mine. Also a beautiful trip you went on, I have done it a couple time, the only way it can get more beautiful is to continue on up through the Oregon coast. Washington coast is beautiful but you don't get to see much of it from the highway.1 point

Congratulations Ray on your new saw hope you have as much fun with yours as I have with mine. Bill1 point

OCtoolguy reacted to JTTHECLOCKMAN for a topic
You really know how to rub it in Ray. 15 degrees here. Good to hear the trip went well and you came back with a fine saw. You will be a happy scroller for sure. As I told you those saws are production saws and will last a life time. Good luck and happy scrolling.1 point -

I do think it was Pinterest that was were I found most of them. including this one I believe.1 point

Old pattern and tape
amazingkevin reacted to fredfret for a topic
I started a Jeff ziffino pattern as,a gift that took me over 6 years to finally finish it. Blue tape came off with very little effort. It was always in my indoor shop and not in direct sunlight. The blue tape my daughter used to mask the outside window trim did not come off after 1 month. Fredfret1 point -
Old pattern and tape
amazingkevin reacted to redwine for a topic
I don't think I have left a pattern on more than I year and it was the pattern "Old Griz" designed of the Pennsey locomotives and it was sprayed on the pattern itself so no problem taking it off with mineral sprits. How ever with the blue tape it will come off but not very easy. I had a lot of scrap pieces with tape still on them that are probably 2 years old and that was difficult to get the tape off. I don't have a heat gun or a hair dryer that would make it easier to take the tape off. Just thankful it was not the old masking tape, it would still be on! Erv1 point -
