    Crucifix Intarsia

Here is my latest. The pattern is by Judy Gale Roberts. This is the smaller version of this pattern, it measures 21" x 27". I used walnut, basswood, aspen, and sycamore.

  2. As long as the wife is away for a few days, I thought I would just go make her something more to add to the basket, I cut for her a couple of days ago, to give her for Mother's Day. I only had some BB Ply to use so that is what she gets this time. This is a pattern from the newest Scroll saw woodworking and crafts magazine. She saw it and liked it and even said she wanted me to make her one, some day. So that day has come. Dick heppnerguy

    my first invite and Alice

I had found a few places to sell my stuff on consignment. one that is about 40mls away sold one last week (prince) so we went to get the cash. in the time it took us to drive to the bookstore they sold a second (petty). it turns out that the woman that got tom is a "comic com" promoter. anyway she is setting up the first "Paducah Galaxy Of Heroes Con" and is giving me a table free of charge. it inspired me, so this is my work for the day. i am so excited!!!

    A first for me

This is a Sue Mey pattern and it is the first time that I used the torch to burn the wood, I kind of like the results.

  8. I thought I would use up some of my scrap wood so I made a few of these mini bird house hangers. One is Oak and the other is Walnut. It's a Steve Good pattern. Pretty easy to cut. Took about 5 minutes. Have to get my camera checked out. Some of my pictures are coming blurry lately.

  9. This one is for a niece of ours that just retired and has her birthday 3 days before mine. I wanted to make her a plaque for her retirement and this was the only retirement plaque I could find, in my quick searches. It is rather masculine but I still think she will enjoy it anyway. It is the thought that counts, so they say. This is a Sue Mey pattern from www.scrollsawartist.com for those new people that may not know about this great pattern maker Dick heppnerguy

  10. I don't typically tell what I sell but just thought some might find what I'm selling interesting. This is today's orders.. I won't bore you all with every days orders.. LOL but anyway these orders came in today.. and I'm mailing them out in the morning other than the fishing clock.. I'm still making that one.. The plane ornament isn't today's order.. but one that I'm mailing out tomorrow.. Kind of a slower day today.. but maybe a better day tomorrow.. NOTE: It pays to keep Christmas ornaments on the site year round.. since I've just sold these two in the last few days..

    Gluing Backers Tip

I bought my own roll of wax paper and keep it in the shop. I got in serious trouble years and years ago. I need a container to clean the table saw blade in...the coffee can and everything else I found was too small. I took Rubber Maid pie container. I still use it. It works super. BUT that was the last time I took anything out of the kitchen for the shop.

  12. This is what it would look kind of like if it was natural with the backer and black frame and couple of other options Hope this helps you to decide colours in some way or another

    Gluing Backers Tip

I’ve seen where it was mentioned to use wax paper. I get into trouble if I touch the wax paper again . So I found that a plastic garbage bag works well, and no additional garbage being made since you can still use the bag after the glue dries. I also use a body filler spreader to spread the glue around on the bag. Then just dip the piece in the glue and glue up. I did about 6 backers in just a couple minutes. Hope this tip helps someone from sleeping in the dog house after using all the wax paper. Don’t ask how I know.

    My shot at a bowl

Hi guys and gals. Well I gave this a shot. It's one of Steve Goods patterns. I was able to cut two at a time so I can keep one and give the other one away. They are a little tough to put together without getting any glue squeezing out. I still have to other one to put together yet. I have to see if I can get the pattern that Dick did. I like that one to. This is almost 3 inches tall and 10 inches wide, cut with # 3/0 reverse.

  16. Mrs. Iggy saw an ad on Facebook of someone selling a bunch of shelving, displays and racks from a business. I arranged to go take a look this morning and snatched up 3 of these stacking metal basket systems. They're on wheels and they came with dividers. Absolutely perfect for my stockpile of puzzles. I was able to get rid of 12 boxes full of puzzles that were not easy to organize or search through when I needed specific ones. As soon as my shed is inspected by the town tomorrow I'll be able to clear out the garage of lawn and garden and beach stuff and re-arrange my puzzle area. I can't wait. Now I need to cut more puzzles to fill up the baskets. LOL

  17. Think I would either leave it natural or paint it white .Can't beat white for a wedding & it would really stand out against that background.

  18. I think I would just leave the cutting natural with a top coat on it. As for the frame, something on the medium brown, you don't want to take away from the art work or plaque itself. Nice job cutting this .

  19. I would tend to leave the pieces natural. If painting either white or black would be my choice, I think that white would show up better on the red but it might be a little too high contrast. I would also tend to leave the frame fairly natural, but a black frame is always classic looking. This is all together a wonderful project, I can't wait to see what you decide to do.

  20. You put together a great pattern and cutting.Unfortunately I cannot suggest a finish except say I would never paint it.

  21. Project done for a customer, this rack can hold up to 6 fishing rods in vertical position. Wall decor will be placed over the top part of the rack. after his order, he noticed he had 3 more fishing rods with no rack and order a small one for them.

  24. First and third option I like the most....but the third backing is my favorite. I wonder what that would look like with white cuttings on the red back and the stained frame..... All options are very good.....maybe leave it up to the couple?

Very nice Rob, Guess you have more luck at pulling that drawer apart than I'm having. 8 Drawers I broke down today and 3/4 of them split in several places, not my day.......... Merlin..

  35. I am gluing up a detailed fret piece that has sections the need to be glued together. I was wondering how I was going to clamp the pieces, I did not have any real small clamps. Then I thought of something. Wood clothes pins. I ground the ends down on my disc sander so they would fit in the small spaces and it has worked great. Here is a picture of one clamped section. I stood up one of the "clamps" so you can see how I sanded it. It only took a few minutes to sand the ends of 10 on the disc sander. I don't know what my wife will say when she discovers some of her clothes pins are gone.... She rarely uses them anyway.

  45. I agree, excellent work and we never find it boring to see what you or the Puzzle Zombie master, or anyone else is making and selling. I find it interesting to see what people seem to like even if I don't sell things. Plus, we get to see the fine work being crafted. I'm with Marg and the others who like that bride and groom with the angel watching over them. I too have never seen that one before. Thanks for sharing.
