I recently submitted an application to sell my produces at the VA hospital. They have an area outside the food court area for vendors to sell there stuff. Most item I’ve seen for sale have been hats and other military stuff, but since I make a lot of military items, I thought I’d give it a shot. I did good for my first time. I haven’t figured up what I’ve sold and my expenses yet, but I know I’ve done better than an craft show I’ve did this year. Should have taken pictures but I will next time.4 points

I cut this pattern and used it for a #5 Pegas MG test. I had purchased the Pegas blades when I first started scrolling. I knew nothing about blades so I just picked up some Olsen blades as well as a dozen Pegas blades from Woodcraft. I tried the Pegas and did not like them as I thought they were too aggressive. I did not think I could control them. About two years later I had two blades left and tried them on this pattern. Having scrolled for some time they no longer seemed too aggressive. I found that they did not tend to wander off the pattern line. They worked very well on straight cuts. I'm sold. Last evening I ordered a gross including #'s 3, 5, 7, 9 blades. cutting is yet to receive a finish.3 points

I got some patterns a while ago from Bobby ( @scrollriffic ) They are all Australian Rules Football teams and one Melbourne rugby team. Anyway i finished them a while a go and forgot to show one to you. I have sold two of these and now I am about to start the football ones. It's about 20inches long and 5 inches tall, the back is 1/2 inch pine and the Melbourne is 3mm Hoop ply, oh and the white is thick card. Hope you like it. Marg2 points -

Came across Scrollsaw Village while looking for info on Excalibur history. I own an EX-30 I bought in 1992, and needed info the settle an argument. I love scroll sawing (of course) and also enjoy lathe turning. I make an occasional project for myself, but most of the things I make are gifts for friends and family, and that for me is the real essence of why I scroll saw. Love to scroll saw and love to make someone happy when I'm done. Looking forward to spending some online time with everyone here. Thanks2 points

Apparently no body knows if the screws are the same or not.. I have a set of these clamps in my shopping cart ready to buy.. My issue is.. I've read the set screw and thumb screws are different from the OEM ones.. I have yet seen the sites that sell these offer any parts for them.. ( Ie Thumb screws and tension levers ect.) NOT about to buy a $100 clamp set that you can't get parts for easily..2 points

I have never done intarsia but I thought this product might be useful. https://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools/Tools_by_Job/Tools_for_Sanding/StewMac_Sharkskin_Abrasive.html?lac_guid=db3d1747-3289-e811-80de-ecb1d775572a&utm_campaign=M1952&utm_medium=email&utm_source=EPA&utm_content=M1952_O_201807181 point

Disney characters are subject to copy right and so selling or distributing patterns would be a no no. For your personal use, I suggest that you google "coloring pages frozen" and from there it is fairly easy to make your own pattern. It has to be for personal use only. Lets not get SSV if trouble with the Big Bad Wolf at Disney.1 point -
Pegas Blade Chuck Thumb Screws / Set Screws?
OCtoolguy reacted to Roberta Moreton for a topic
Does your blade slip or lose tension?. Does your tension lever release for no apparent reason? I was wishing I never bought my EXCALIBUR. The upgrade fixed it. For what I spent it was worth it.1 point -
This same discussion is on on another forum. Should answer some questions on replacement parts. https://forum.scrollsawer.com/forum/scroll-saw/general-scroll-saw/858962-pegas-blade-chuck Larry1 point

I found the red/white can of 3M 77 at Wal Mart and Hobby Lobby. I've not had a problem with these. Home Depot has the black can, but I've had issues with it spattering. I clean the nozzle regularly to avoid spatter, but didn't seem to help on the Home Depot can. As for glueing your arm hairs, I kinda had that issue too until I put a piece of hardware cloth over a large garbage barrel and spray the back of the pattern down into the barrel. Larry1 point

Pegas Blade Chuck Thumb Screws / Set Screws?
OCtoolguy reacted to scrollerpete for a topic
The thumb screws are included in the blade holder kit and also somebody just post on another site that so far he has more than 120 hours and not even one blade slippage occurred.1 point -

I do know that the set screws have a lock nut on the end and it does not vibrate out of center in the clamp head.1 point -

I use a drum sander, carving with a Dremel, a lot of cloth backed sand paper and other things as needed. While an interesting abrasive, as one who does Intarsia I do not have any interest.1 point -

I got mine from D and D blades. Unit was $90 but since I also bought blades I am not exactly sure what the shipping cost was for just the holders.1 point -

Ray, Ray. Don't use it for hair spray. You need to point the spray at the back of the pattern. We need to have a talk. SOON!1 point

First Projects - Scroll Saw Challenge
Tomanydogs reacted to Jronn65 for a topic
This was one of my first projects. Don’t on cheap plywood. I did a lot of small projects just to learn how to turn the wood, which never worked out for me. I didn’t think I was ever going to get it, then I learn to use spirals. Everything got easier for me. Then after listening to some of the YouTube shows, I found that I was not alone and others used spirals too. Then I got a better saw, dewalt, which changed the whole game and really made it easier!!!1 point -
The Boeing 314 is the 3rd in my cuttings of vintage luxury airliners and this airplane has the most interesting story. PanAm was operating the luxury B314 flying boat Clipper Ships across the long legs of Pacific prior to WWII. The story of the Pacific Clipper on December 7th 1941 is one of courage, ingenuity and perseverance. I have included a PDF file of that amazing adventure along with a route map and pictures of the aircraft. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed cutting the B-314 plaque. A movie is in preproduction called the Escape of the Pacific Clipper. BTW, wife says I need to give the planes a rest for a while. Back to boxes and fret work. I've been quite busy and haven't posted much on here.. or actually haven't really been on here much other than a couple quick glances every now and then.. Chevy Nova and the 57 Chevy Wagon are a couple custom orders from last week.. rest is stuff I had but sold last week.. Hoping everyone is enjoying their summer and getting lots of saw time in.. Thanks in advance for your likes and comments.... as this week is already starting out busy so I'm probably not going to get much time to get on here..1 point
