Custom Racecars!
Lucky2 and 4 others reacted to harvickfanjoey for a topic
I’ve been very busy lately. Business has been doing really great. I thought I would take a minute and share some of my latest creations with my fellow scrollers. I made my own patterns for all of these. The Sprint Car will be given out as a trophy @ my local dirt track. The 3 CNYUAS Kart trophies are going to Syracuse, NY. They are for the Top 3 in points for the Central New York Unlimited All-Stars. Some where for Father’s Day presents, Birthday Presents, Proud Parents, Fans, and the Drivers Themselves. Hope you guys like these.5 points -

I was cutting my grandson's portrait with a Penguin Silver Reverse #3 blade. Before this I cut a pattern with a Pegas MG #5 blade and was impressed with how well it tracked the line. Today I put in the PSR #3 and noticed it tried to drift. I remembered someone suggesting sanding the right side of the blade which I did. I was surprised at the difference it made. I was delighted because I really like the PSR blades. They cut very smoothly. I just attached 220 sandpaper to a piece of wood with spray adhesive. I placed it next to the blade and ran the saw for only a second or so. Worked like a charm.3 points

Rain for 3 days
Lucky2 and 2 others reacted to scrollerpete for a topic
We had more than 100milliters of rain in the last 3 days so spend some time on the scrollsaw. Now that I have installed the new Pegas blade holder on my EX I find that it is so nice to work with the saw. I did not realized that the knots was there when I glue the pattern on " it say I RIDE A not Pride LOL3 points -

This site has a Member Map. It's under Community tab, at the top of this page. There's also a Clubs and Organizations section under the Resources tab above. Perhaps that could help you locate a forum member or a scroll saw club near you. Otherwise, I agree with John. Ask any questions you may have here. Lots of very helpful and knowledgeable folks post here.3 points -

Yes, by all means! Ask your questions here, if need be, add a picture or two in your post to help us help you. We may not be right in your shop with you, but we're the same as☺ There are many levels of experience here, with every breed & color of saw out there.1 point -
My blades arrived today. They were packed in a sturdy small box. I'n impressed since they could have use an envelope. Since they are from Canada I can live with eight days. Next time I will allow for the time.1 point

Two methods that I use - 1. As you make a through cut all the way around. the lid isn't held the same distance away from the rest of the box , and the blade can make an uneven cut. Install spacers and tape o hold them in place to keep the saw kerf held open the correct space. 2. Set the saw blade to not quite cut through the box sides, After all four sides have been sawed, then finish the cut with a sharp knife. In either case, if the box and lid end up with edges that aren't perfect, glue some 150 grit sandpaper to a piece of smooth surfaced and flat plywood. Temporarily attach this plywood to your bench with the sandpaper facing up, and place the un-even box edge face down on the sandpaper. Use mostly a figure 8 motion to sand the edge of the box and lid to sand the edges flat, keeping even downward pressure as you do this. Inspect the edge frequently, and rotate the box occasionally as you sand it. You should end up with a perfectly smooth and flat box edge. If you apply too much force to any one area, you will not have a perfect fit between the box and lid. Keep the downward pressure as even as possible and rotate the box frequently to minimize this. I keep the piece piece of plywood with the sandpaper on it stuffed between my work benches when not in use, so I can pull it out and use it again the next time that I make a box. Almost every box needs the edges of the box and lid sanded at least a little to get them flat and smooth no matter how you cut the lid free. Correct orientation of the box to the lid is important too. I always put a piece of blue tape on the front of the box and the lid so I know how they were oriented before being cut apart. The grain will all match this way too. Charley1 point

I ordered some clocks from them about 6-8 years ago.. they took a very long time to get here... While they were good clocks and I didn't really have any issues with them.. The slow shipping is why i never ordered from them again.. at the time I ordered.. I didn't know they was from Canada.. until I looked at my packing slip when my package arrived.. then it was like.. OH.. that's why it took so long..1 point
