While searching google for miniature cannon plans I came across this site: www.getdrawings.com/civil-war-cannon-drawing Don't know why this does not show as a web address but if you cut and paste into the address line it does work. I downloaded the attached pattern from this site. I took it to Office Depot. They copied it turning it into red and enlarged 200 percent. The red is so much easier to see when cutting. The site has probably been posted before but there are lots of free drawings suitable for scrolling.4 points

Sprint Car Trophy
Lucky2 and one other reacted to harvickfanjoey for a topic
I made this Trophy for the Carolina Sprint Tour Race @ 311 Speedway last night. The race was won by 18yr old Jake Karklin. He and his Dad were thrilled to win this trophy. He said it was one of the coolest Trophies they had ever won. Jake said it’s going in my Bedroom! I had a Awesome time, and met some Awesome people. After making this, the track owner is wanting me to make the Championship trophies for our local divisions. I also got me some Decals made this week, and I’ve already had a few of my Customers put them on their Racecars.2 points -

Custom Racecars!
Lucky2 reacted to harvickfanjoey for a topic
I’ve been very busy lately. Business has been doing really great. I thought I would take a minute and share some of my latest creations with my fellow scrollers. I made my own patterns for all of these. The Sprint Car will be given out as a trophy @ my local dirt track. The 3 CNYUAS Kart trophies are going to Syracuse, NY. They are for the Top 3 in points for the Central New York Unlimited All-Stars. Some where for Father’s Day presents, Birthday Presents, Proud Parents, Fans, and the Drivers Themselves. Hope you guys like these.1 point -

But I helped! My friend, Ron Smith, is a very good segmented bowl maker/turner. A while back he asked if I would help him make a bowl that he was wanting to do. He brought me some wood and silhouette patterns for animals he wanted to use on the bowl and wanted to see if I thought I could cut them. The hardest part of cutting them was having him watch me the would time. But we had a great time in the shop and he got what he wanted. He just sent me these pictures of his finished product.1 point

You have certainly been busy. They are all excellent and so are your patterns. I really like the way you photographed the last few on the checkers, it looks like a checkered flag. Winners every one. Marg1 point -
First Projects - Scroll Saw Challenge
Ty Tice reacted to scrollntole for a topic
OK - I got really excited the more I kept making things with my original scroll saw. I got a kick out of some small items that someone made - he had challenged himself to make one-a-day for a whole year, and most were fun. I made some, then had the sense to ask him if he cared if I sold them at craft fairs. To my surprise, being new to all this "copyright" idea, he answered emphatically that I should NOT sell them; that he thought of each design as copyrighted. So, I haven't made anymore, and I haven't sold any either. Right now most are mounted outside on my arbor. The attached Word document shows only four items. But about the fourth picture - I made that, gave it one of my daughters, who gave it to a friend, who has traveled about the world and taken pictures of himself holding the piece at various locations worldwide. He sent the pictures to my daughter who in turn shared them with me. So, that's my story!! Vin Early Scroll Saw Items.doc1 point -
Today I was at Ron's house to visit. I saw the bowl live for the first time. The pictures does not do it justice and it is much bigger than it appears in the pictures. And one other little thing..... he handed it to me and said take it home. All he wants in turn is that I cut him 3 sets of the animals after I get my eyes fixed. He wants to have them in case he decides to make more similar bowls.1 point

Keep getting orders from different drivers. I get a lot of messages from Wives and Girlfriends, wanting to get them for Birthday and Christmas presents. I LOVE making these, each one is unique. Keep adding different types of cars to my patterns.1 point -

Two methods that I use - 1. As you make a through cut all the way around. the lid isn't held the same distance away from the rest of the box , and the blade can make an uneven cut. Install spacers and tape o hold them in place to keep the saw kerf held open the correct space. 2. Set the saw blade to not quite cut through the box sides, After all four sides have been sawed, then finish the cut with a sharp knife. In either case, if the box and lid end up with edges that aren't perfect, glue some 150 grit sandpaper to a piece of smooth surfaced and flat plywood. Temporarily attach this plywood to your bench with the sandpaper facing up, and place the un-even box edge face down on the sandpaper. Use mostly a figure 8 motion to sand the edge of the box and lid to sand the edges flat, keeping even downward pressure as you do this. Inspect the edge frequently, and rotate the box occasionally as you sand it. You should end up with a perfectly smooth and flat box edge. If you apply too much force to any one area, you will not have a perfect fit between the box and lid. Keep the downward pressure as even as possible and rotate the box frequently to minimize this. I keep the piece piece of plywood with the sandpaper on it stuffed between my work benches when not in use, so I can pull it out and use it again the next time that I make a box. Almost every box needs the edges of the box and lid sanded at least a little to get them flat and smooth no matter how you cut the lid free. Correct orientation of the box to the lid is important too. I always put a piece of blue tape on the front of the box and the lid so I know how they were oriented before being cut apart. The grain will all match this way too. Charley1 point
