Got a few done now and wanted to post these up. The Celtic square is from Bobsaw got to love his work. Worbler did the Pangolin from a request. Hard to believe they are an endangered species and people catch them and try to make pets out of them. On the Pangolin I hit it with a blow torch after cutting and was surprise by the way it darkened the area around each cut. Got to do this more often really like the effect. Thanks both of you for the great patterns. Had fun on these. jim penquin6 points

Pole rocker
amazingkevin and 5 others reacted to rjR for a topic
I had a special request to try to build a carousel type rocking horse. I have made 65+ kid sized rocking toys, plus a bunch of mini-sized stress reliever ones. SO I said, why not try. Here is the result. It is 37+1/2 inches tall 35 inches long and 14 inches wide. All construction is screwed and glued with the visible screw holes filled or plugged. I use a jig that I had made years ago for the rocker assembling. The wood is pine and a bit of unknowns for the top-cap and the handle. They were turned from firewood pile. The customer wanted to do the paint/trim etc. as that is one of my weaknesses anyway that is more than fine! The design is fro the rjR/ T & E design studio. All cross braces are also reinforced underneath. It passed the ride test by me with flying(ROCKING) colors too. When I get so I cannot test ride them; I am going to quit making them and give my rocker assembly jig and templates away. I did make posterboard templates for this one. If I make another, it will also have thin plywood templates made at the cutting time.6 points -
Getting married
amazingkevin and 3 others reacted to heppnerguy for a topic
My granddaughter is getting married in November. Both her and her husband to be are professional horse people. My granddaughter buys, sells, breaks. trains and sells horses. Her husband to be, is a professional roper and cowboy, he works as a ranch hand, taking care of miles of fences and herds a very large amount of cattle. So my thanks goes to Sam Custodio for his great pattern and for allowing me to alter it for this special occasion. Dick heppnerguy4 points -
another grand child getting married this year
Fish and 3 others reacted to heppnerguy for a topic
This marriage has been looming in the works for a couple of years and they finally decided the time was NOW. Since they had been a couple for maybe a total of 4 years, I was content to just have the feeling of "It's about time". I was told a couple of months after the announcement that she was disappointed to not had this traditional "she said yes" plaque that I had made and given to everyone else. I told her that I was just so excited that the time was FINALLY here that all I thought about was the upcoming wedding. I did promise to make them one. The husband to be is Hannah's brother. Hannah is the girl I made the 'HITCHEN UP" plaque for, that I posted yesterday. This is a pretty ordinary piece but it means a lot to the people it is made for, so I thought I would post it anyway. Scroll saw for thick wood?
OCtoolguy and one other reacted to Sycamore67 for a topic
I cut 1.5" on my Hegner. Typically, do compound cut Christmas Ornaments. I have cut them from oak, ash and cherry. I have used FD Polar #5. I really like the PS Woods Super Sharp blades but are more expensive.2 points -
Hi everyone I keep making sawdust and recently bought a Proxon scroll saw, I'm enjoying learning how to use it and looking around the Scroll Saw Village there are some very talented folks out there. I'm looking forward to visiting Canada later this year and hope to pick up a few Woodworking magazines whilst on holiday there, you guys on the other side of the pond seem to have better facilities for crafters.1 point

Sprint Car Trophy
Lucky2 reacted to harvickfanjoey for a topic
I made this Trophy for the Carolina Sprint Tour Race @ 311 Speedway last night. The race was won by 18yr old Jake Karklin. He and his Dad were thrilled to win this trophy. He said it was one of the coolest Trophies they had ever won. Jake said it’s going in my Bedroom! I had a Awesome time, and met some Awesome people. After making this, the track owner is wanting me to make the Championship trophies for our local divisions. I also got me some Decals made this week, and I’ve already had a few of my Customers put them on their Racecars.1 point -

Custom Racecars!
Lucky2 reacted to harvickfanjoey for a topic
I’ve been very busy lately. Business has been doing really great. I thought I would take a minute and share some of my latest creations with my fellow scrollers. I made my own patterns for all of these. The Sprint Car will be given out as a trophy @ my local dirt track. The 3 CNYUAS Kart trophies are going to Syracuse, NY. They are for the Top 3 in points for the Central New York Unlimited All-Stars. Some where for Father’s Day presents, Birthday Presents, Proud Parents, Fans, and the Drivers Themselves. Hope you guys like these.1 point -

Well it's been a little while since I made any thing "NEW" and this was a request from a customer.. So I made the pattern last week and cut it out yesterday.. I've been trying my hand at making my own patterns.. After I made this and cut it I see a couple of changes I'll make on the next one I cut.. If this one sells that is.. Don't think it's a bad pattern but not much to really brag about either... Now today.. back to cutting stock in ornaments..1 point

I bought all this wood for 80$. I am set for a very long time. Well a coup!e of projects and get my money back plus more. The guy I bought it from had it for two years and never did anything out of it so just wanted it out of his garage. My son thought I was crazy. I think it is really cool and already got projects going.1 point

I think, DeWalt, Hegner, Hawk, Seyco, Excalibur, King and there are more that will handle it.1 point

Yes Hawks can cut up to two inches. However, and that's just me, I would seriously look at the PS Wood scroll saws I have not seem a more robust saw. A brand new out of the box 21inch saw, steel stand and quick change blades with free shipping is $799. I have no idea why it is not more popular but my friend has one. It is built more like an industrial machine and yet can produce the very finest work. If I were to replace my Hawk that would be my next purchase. JMHO1 point

RBI Hawks can cut up to 2 inch but are 1200+ new used almost any price age, condition dictates. fredfret1 point

Well, looks like that was taken from an episode of Woodworking for Mere Mortals. If you watch the beginning he tell where he got the pattern from coloring pages on google.1 point
-
I would be happy to do it, however; 1. Would need to know the EXACT radius, & the total length of the letters desired & what font you want. 2. Since it is a purchased pattern, you can't send it to me. You could message me for an address & send a copy of that portion of the pattern. Maybe others have a better idea. jerry1 point
