    Humming birds.

Made this today out of Cedar. Harder than I thought it would be due to the closeness of the cuts.

    Latest project

I have been working on this on and off for a few days when I have time. I still have some work to do around the base. But I’m happy with the way it’s looking so far. It’s a combination of 2 patterns. There is a 1/2” spacer between the front and back to give it some depth.

    Wolf

Here was one of this weekends project. Done on Basswood. Wolves and Eagles are some of my favorites to cut. Dragons too but I don't find a lot of Fret Dragons.

    Another Airplane B-25

Another project for my B-I-L. His dad used to fly a B-25 in WWII. He set up a memorial stand with a folded flag and pictures. Cutting went fast, design, not so fast. Had to go to the copy store twice since the first one was too small. 19.5" x 12" final size. 1/8" BBPW on 1/4" backer. Time to give my eyes a rest for a while.

    fixed and finished

a friend of mine owns a fabric store and one of her customers drop their thread holder and broke parts of it. She called me I took a look at it and proceed to give it a try. I put it back together with thicker pieces . Hopefully if she drops it again it will not break as easy. thanks for looking

    New work

Had time over the last couple of weekends to get some sawdust made after getting my two new saws. Used the band saw to cut the outside of the triangle puzzles -- so much faster. Still have to do some light sanding and put finishes on all pieces. There was a few more pieces cut, just no photo.

    Critters

I have been very much enjoying making these little critters for a couple months. They are all under 3 inches tall. Except for the one dragon. I blew up the drawing and made the smaller one a big brother. He's 5 1/2 inches tall. I think there is 40 of them so far.

  12. I made Hank Hill from the show King of the Hill. I used walnut for the hair, oak for the skin, maple for the shirt and eyeballs, ebony doe the glasses and Wenge for the back silhouette layer.

    Dog sled scene

I got my inspiration from @Old Joe ‘s post in General scroll saw named “Truly Humbled “. I stacked the two pieces and cut once. It’s 7” wide x 3 1/4” high. Cut on western cedar. The dog sled is from a painting my mom made for me years ago.

    BUCK SAW

I think that's what these saws were called. I took a pattern for this saw and reduced it a little. I left out the scene that is supposed to be in it and routered my daughter's and son in laws name in it. I am giving a demo on how to make / router signs for the guild I belong to, and this is one of my examples. the handles are oak, the brackets are walnut and the sign is curly maple. It is about 26" long. After routering the letters I painted them black. This will fit perfect with their decor.

  22. The pattern for the Richmond Tiger was done for me a while ago by @Fab4 Paul and the Sydney Swans plaque was done by @scrollriffic Bobby. This is just one part of a large order but thankfully there is no rush, I can take my time with it. Marg

  23. After 2 months off from cutting I'm starting to get back into the rhythm... A nice assortment cut over the weekend. Goal is 40 a week til my events begin Easter weekend (April 19/20 Fri/Sat). I have 3 major weekend events in a row right out of the gate. I should hear about my new Pegas saw soon. Look forward to trying it out. Iggy

  24. Well I certainly hope it works out for two reasons 1. I would love to see you cut and show us the old house picture.. It would be cool... 2. I hate to see DonR's patterns die out. He has lots of good ones.

    First cutting on new saw.

Nice job! I really like it. Straight lines along with letters are very hard to do. Get them mastered and the sky is the limit. I agree with Paul about trying out Pegas blades. ( modified geometry.) it'll make it much easier for you.
