If anyone is looking for a challenge, here it is! I think there was 2 million pilot holes, give or take a million, at least it felt like it was that many! It is a great pattern, but it is a tough one to cut. This was made for a friend to raffle off to raise money for the national wildlife turkey federation. I left the plastic on the frame for shipping.14 points

Horsing around
amazingkevin and 2 others reacted to rjR for a topic
Was trying to figure out some things with some rescued wood. I do not know the species of any except the lighter colored horse; I believe to be oak The bases are about 1-1/2 in thick and the length is about 3-1/2 inches with them being just over 4" tall.. Very open to suggestions on the final finish coating! Thanks. Pattern? is a modified silhouette from free internet sources.3 points -

Dad & Son Table Sign Pattern Well, the tree is made of wood and the guitar is made from the wood of the tree, so I guess you could call it Father and Son. In any even this might make a good gift for a musician or just a general sign for a dad. I cut mine from cherry and used the off cut to make an interesting serrated base to mount it on. You can download the free pattern from my Free Pattern Page:2 points

Nice job. I am sure the recipient will love it. Thanks for showing. @lawson56 as a fellow Tennessean, that is sacrilegious to say you don’t like orange. course, this orange is not quite the right shade anyway. I bleed orange. But, purple may be my favorite color at least when not bringing college sports into it.2 points -

Weldbond Glue

I use Weldbond all the time and it does have a quick set up time. It is really great to use with the Grandkids as they have no patience to wait. Also, Carole Rathman use on all her bowls. I have been using lately to glue BB to High Gloss paint and it works fantastic. See picture. I transfer to the accordion squeeze bottle and a few drops are enough. My bet is that your glue was old. If you are close to the US border visit a Canadian Tire and they carry it 2 sizes.2 points -

These were real popular years ago.. was going through inventory and ran across them.. Use to sell them on my website but then when I shut the site down they never made it to any of the other sites.. Guess I better get them up for grabs again.. Amazing how many projects I've made that either never made it to the websites or I move websites around and never get them all back online... Anywaythese was one of my favorite to make.. and sell.. somehow they got lost with my A.D.D. Pink for girls and blue for boy... also did green for neutral not pictured These are cut from 1/4" BB ply and I used a foam sheet backer and then screwed small screws in to hold the sawtooth hanger..2 points -

This looks like the one I bought.. I really like it for gluing the painted / stained backers. I think it would be a decent glue for wood to wood gluing.. I normally use titebond III for wood to wood..1 point

Kevin, I had the exact same experience. But, in reverse. I was used to using Pegas #5 blades and for some unknown reason, I decided to try some FD blades. All of a sudden I couldn't keep them going straight. I had to really push to one side to stay on the line. I love me some PEGAS!1 point -
That's great. You bought a great saw and got to see some nice scenery. If you have never used a Hawk, take the time to visit Bushton Mfg. website and view the "getting started" video. Especially how to adjust the tension. If not done right you'll swear that your blades are all too short. Don't ask me how I know that.1 point

I use Duck brand shelf material very often. But there are times when cutting a piece with lots of fine detail I prefer a little greater tack so I use painters tape. With fine detail using shelf liner the pattern lifts on small detail. I use a roller to apply the shelf liner, then use a small Delrin burnisher making sure the liner is securely fastened to the wood. Hence the question about painter's tape. JT supplied a helpful 3M chart showing properties of the various tapes. It shows a lower tack purple tape.1 point
