    A Few New Cuts

Keeping up with orders and bringing adding NEW cuts has been a bit of a challenge this summer.. will be starting my ornament restocking and making new designs very soon so this maybe the last of the new clocks and other things until I get some of my ornaments stocked up..

  3. This was designed by my Good Friend Marcel who Lives in Holland. I have already cut many of Alex Fox's Patterns like this and Enjoy them. Color scheme was decided mostly by my Wife. I did help some. LOL Let me know your thoughts...........Thanks Danny :+}

    Navy Door Hanger

It's been a while since I posted or commented on anything, my place of employment announced layoffs or possible closing, so i have been busy applying for jobs, taking tests& interviewing, I am pleased to announce I have accepted a new job!! Physical & drug test today, it will be rotating 12's, but I will get 7 days off straight once a month which should allow me some shop time.....enough rambling I was asked to make this, their daughter is graduating from Navy basic training, they are going to paint it themselves, 1/2" sanded plywood

    Forgiven

This is a Charles Dearing design. I got it finished up this morning. I’ve been trying to “make” this pattern for a long time and just kept falling short. I gave it to Charles and he made it happen. One of these days I should learn how to make patterns. I think his version turned out awesome.

  7. Here is what I finally did with my tree puzzle. Used craft paint and sponged it on. Did one side in summer colours and the other side in autumn colours. Thanks to my sister for the suggestion.

That was always my thoughts on them. Maybe if I used one I would find a use for it but I can’t see ever needing something like that. ( especially for the price they ask) Not to confused with a drum sander. I want one of them. that I would use all the time and is on my short list soon.

  9. I was inspired by Kimberly Francis on these but they are simple enough to draw each tree free hand making each one unique and it’s nice not using spray adhesive for a change.

  10. I cut this little thing quite a long time ago. I ran across it recently. I tried painting it but can't do a good job. Too many hand tremors. But was fun anyway. Just made the frame today.

    Smart Sleuth

I've always been a fan of Sherlock Holmes and the many other fictional detectives. I thought a nice table sign glorifying this type of fiction would be in order so I came up with Smart Sleuth (think Nancy Drew) Might make a nice present for a movie for TV fan of mysteries. Coated this simulation with a Koa veneer. The image has a perspective to it, but the pattern is pretty straight forward and easy. Angels

I have been making angel ornaments this past week. Cut using pine on my scroll saw. Halos are drilled out 3/4" wheels. I now need to loop 10" long ribbons through the halos to form a hanger on each.

Yes, I run the bottom over the roller. If there are large voids, I fill in the spaces with the fall outs. I use 220 grit.

    Vacummed bags

John, I use shrink wrap film for my puzzles. The impulse sealer is reasonably priced and the film is almost no cost when divided amongst the number of items you can wrap with a roll. Any heat gun will do the trick. I have the 400mm one and it has done everything I needed it to. On Ebay they are $52.00 AU so would be much cheaper in the US. If you do get one, I would suggest you get a couple of spare elements and teflon tape. cheers

I have one and love it. Bought mine from a friend who was moving and didn't have room for it at the new place. I'd looked at them before, but just couldn't justify the price of a new one, but $150 for the used one was a great buy.

I built one from a kit, but I don't use t much. But, for all that I've used it over the years since building it, it was nothing but a waste of time and money. It does work good, I just don't have much use for it. Len

    Curves

I run my saw fairly fast but I cut very slowly to avoid "mis-cuts". Especially on 3D compound cuts.

    Curves

Got to thinking about this topic today. Following the curve also has to do a lot with the speed you saw at. I am a big fan of very very slow speeds. I like to feel the saw cutting into the wood. if you go really fast, it will just sort of float through and the grains in the wood will sort if just move the wood along. Going slow teaches you what it should feel like. Does for me anyway,
