  1. I was inspired by Kimberly Francis on these but they are simple enough to draw each tree free hand making each one unique and it’s nice not using spray adhesive for a change.

    Amazing Grace

I would like to give credit to whomever created this pattern but for the life of me I can't remember who. Would the designer please step up. The original pattern had a silhouette of Christ which I did not include since that made it taller than the four inch material I had. Don't know what the wood is but used a #1 Pegas MG and finished with a couple of light coats of polyurethane.

    Navy Door Hanger

It's been a while since I posted or commented on anything, my place of employment announced layoffs or possible closing, so i have been busy applying for jobs, taking tests& interviewing, I am pleased to announce I have accepted a new job!! Physical & drug test today, it will be rotating 12's, but I will get 7 days off straight once a month which should allow me some shop time.....enough rambling I was asked to make this, their daughter is graduating from Navy basic training, they are going to paint it themselves, 1/2" sanded plywood

  7. Not much going on here so I'll try to bore you a little. I started designing a DIY nuclear reactor. That didn't seemed to be working so decided to try and adapt it to my saw. Everything came from ACE hardware. I patronize them because they are very close and are locally owned. Also I get to know all the staff and get terrific service. Please try not to laugh as I am terribly sensitive and at my age my skin gets very thin. I bleed easily. It works well with exception of the upper vacuum hose. With the vacuum turned there is lots of suction on the large orifice bu very little on the upper. Perhaps it is because the larger uses all the suction and not enough left over for the smaller. I'm thinking perhaps both should be the same diameter so each would have the same amount of vacuum. I have not decided exactly how I will proceed with the upper. I may put a reduced orifice on the lower and see how that works before adapting the mounting bracket on top. This is totally an experiment in progress.

    A Few New Cuts

Keeping up with orders and bringing adding NEW cuts has been a bit of a challenge this summer.. will be starting my ornament restocking and making new designs very soon so this maybe the last of the new clocks and other things until I get some of my ornaments stocked up..

  10. Man that blade was smoking. Carter makes a bearing system you can add to your bandsaw that allows 1/8" blades and turns on a dime too. This tool is for a tool junkie because as someone said it is a small bandsaw and that is all. I saw this on facebook being advertised along with Pegas new scrollsaw so had to bring it up here. Not cheap either.

CT scan machine for medical does creates layered images. CAD software can be very basic to very high end and very expensive. Drawing exact dimensions of every part of a car, from the engine to the interior dash and seats, which are then sent as files to be manufactured. I know of many CAD programs in the industry which I worked on, but they were all paid for by the company. Haven't had access to a single one cause of their cost. Here is a few out there. Each with options and the more options, the more money. RJF https://all3dp.com/1/best-free-cad-software-2d-3d-cad-programs-design/

  16. This a long weekend here in Ontario. Being retired all weekends are the same anyways. Christmas is less than 5 months away and each year I cut an ornament or such for everyone at the table at Christmas. It is getting harder and harder each year to come up with something unique. A few years ago I did a sleigh, 2 years ago we did a dangle and last year a snowman. All personalized. So every body wants something with dimension, I like to have this decided early so I can get cut and the LOML can plan on decorating. Usually takes a trip to Joannes. Since I have I have purchased the last 2 years plans from Sue Mey, I wrote to here and the suggestion was elves. I have spent the weekend modifying her pattern to add personalization and added hands and feet like the dangle. Love the feet. Now ready to start cutting, 20 sets and 40 hands and feet. PS Included previous posts for you inspiration.

    SandFlee

There are still two models being sold on the RJR website. Here are some pictures of the one I made and works on my Shopsmith. It is great for some work. I use it when making boxes, puzzles, and a lot of other things. I would not pay what they cost for a real one but this one did not cost much. The sanding drum is a piece of PVC pipe with wooden ends. The top is adjustable to change how much is sanded and there is dust collection inside of it. With the Shopsmith, I can vary the speed of the sanding drum. I also use the Shopsmith with pneumatic sanding drums, sanding mops and many other sanding items.

I'd be happy to share pictures of my wine glass caddies, but actually don't even have any photos of them. Used to show all 25 current patterns on my website, so buyers could identify their favorite ones. Now it's just a hobby with only 3 clients, and they take an assortment of whatever hardwood and pattern I want. Don't have a recent count, since I quit using QuickBooks, but it's somewhere around 9500 of them sold. Between those, ornaments and stuff I want for myself, it keeps me out of the bars!

Wooden Lace, would love to see your wine glass caddy if you would care to share. Thanks. I have considered a SandFlee but since I have taken up the woodworking hobby a little over 3 years ago, I have not found any for sale any where. If anyone knows if they are selling them again, or has one they want to get rid of let me know.

I use mine mainly for finish sanding my wine glass caddy blanks before I scroll the pattern in them. They're only 3 1/2 X 9 1/2 inches, so not a problem keeping pressure on the small of a piece. I use 360 grit. If I use the right blade, there's no need to sand the back again, 'cause there are no fuzzies. I use either Olsen Mach 3 or Pegas Modified Geometry 1, depending on the hardwood I'm using.

Ah-- The sailor CLAN! Nicely done! Good luck on the new job! At least it is not going to be a full-rotating schedule. That one is a killer. Hopefully you get a month on one shift and then a month on the next etc. Not a weekly change!

  45. I don't know that there is that much difference in them Kevin. Unless you have an EX that was made in China. Mine was made in Canada and I can't imagine that Pegas has done anything other than the clamps to improve it. I do like the paint job but not enough to spend $700 on it. My saw couldn't be much better since I upgraded the the clamps. I love it.
