  1. 14 the hard way! They were going to be bird houses and wanted the best side on front. But to do that I,d have to make the perch and nest holes by eye.so that means taking them out of there shell and find a good side.well my friend says to just keep it simple and make them ornaments! That saves a lot of time so I did!!! I could cut about 3" and my arms were dead.still more resting I guess

    Give Namunolie a try

Just letting all of you know Namunolie has his puzzle patterns on Esy to buy. I just got 7 of them and he worked with me great. Had to resend them in PDF format after that no problem. Now have to make time to cut them. Hope he keeps new ones coming.

    Gordon's advise

Hmm, I think you and my husband fortunately went to the same school. The other “lesson” he tells newly engaged young men is a few simple words to learn, “yes dear.” but then also points out that on a few rare occasion, those two words can get you in trouble, usually he says when she asks does this make me look fat? For those rare occasions like that, he says the correct reply is you always look beautiful dear. May be why we have been happily married for more than 34 years.

  12. I decided to try a portrait. So I found Steve Good's "Easy Elvis" and cut it yesterday. It's going up for sale at The Rustic Barn so I just stuck it in a cheap frame. It's 1/4" BB ply done with a Pegas MG #3 and finished with spray lacquer.

    Craft show

I took my Christmas trees to the craft show and my pictures. I sold out of the trees the first half hour. I took 10 thinking if they don’t sell they make great gifts haha. I sold 15 pictures. I was surprised. I wasn’t going to take anything, my hubby sells pens so I go along to help him but he encouraged me to take my stuff. He says I’m better then I think. I made $400. .

    Elf on a shelf

Each year we do an item for Christmas diner place setting. (19 coming for dinner this year) This year is an Elf on a Shelf. Modified Sue Mey pattern. Feet my design. Before you ask the shelf was a last minute design change as they are top heavy and would not sit up.

    Small Shop Heating

I meant that for people who have separate shops and aren't there every day to make certain that the heat is still on and the temperature inside is still above freezing. Hot water systems break up pretty badly if left non-running in below freezing Weather. A neighbor of mine where I once lived in NY State had a second heat system for heating his sidewalks and driveway. So he didn't have to run it all the time, he put anti-freeze in the circulating water. Every time it snowed or got icy, he would fire up this system and keep the ice and snow from sticking to his sidewalks and driveway. I'm certain that it cost him a lot to have ice and snow free walks, but he could go away on vacation and not worry about the system freezing up while he was gone. Today, someone like this would also have it controlled by his cell phone, so he could turn it on while he was away on vacation. Charley

  41. With every new item I buy there is always a shake down period as there is with this lamp. I've been cutting with it for about 10 hours now and I find it wonderful. The only down side is the lamp head is very light because it does not have the heavy light ring. As a result the lamp will all of a sudden lift due to the light weight of the lens and lamp. The problem was solved by placing a weight on the upper arm just behind the lens. The arms are very robust and work fine for the standard lamps with the light ring. Other than that the lamp and lens work very well. There has been lots of discussion on diopters. It appears that 3X is an all around choice for scrolling. Several here have purchased 3X lanterns that were recommended during a intarsia course. I do not mount lamps directly on the saw. The slightest vibration of the magnifier is disturbing to me. I mount the lamp on a bench next to the saw. I place no faith in the mounting clamps so I cut off the disk on the screw. I want the screw to bite into the bench. Then I drill a hole on the top of the mount and drive in a 1" sheet rock screw.
