    My latest shop addition

I just got my Pegas scroll saw today. I've named her Peggy❤. I've been talking to her all afternoon. Denny has shipped my Pegas blades. Intarsia.com is sending me the flexible sanding drums, foredom lathe, pnuematic drums. Fun week

  3. Hi everyone. Just wanted to post a pic of this plaque that I just finished. I want to thank Bob (sprithorse) for being able to come up with this pattern. This was all his idea and it worked out great. Thanks again Bob.

  4. This is a little sea turtle box. I had a little sea turtle named spock but I have to give him away. He was getting to big for his aquriem and I couldn't afford to keep buying bigger ones, although I think I would have tried to find different container to him in if it wasn't getting just to hard for me to clean out his aquarem. I had to make sure I had a top over his container what ever it was so ivy our cat couldn't get to him. I miss him terribly but we do what is best for our animal children in the long one. Im sure hes proubly happier in his new home. One of the teachers at the elemantry school took him. He stays in the class room wth all the kids during school and whenschool is out she takes him home where she has several other turtles of varies kinds.lol owl always love you I made because it was cute and I needed stock for me craft boxes. I did this cocatial in memory of my little napolen. This is another reycyled project. i''ll try to find a better picture. Its a gulf ball bird. I cant make to may of these because I don't play golf. lol I just happened to find a small bag of old golf balls at my favorite thrift store and picked them up. my poor spike he looked at me shook his head and said what are you going to do with old golf balls? lol now this little guy wasn't a wood craft project all at!! I got him out of one of my plastic canvas pattern books. lol I didn't have any plastic canvas at the time but I wanted to make this for Halloween so I just redid it into wood lol well that's enough for now i'll add more pics of some kind or another tomorrow. lol now this ghost

  6. Ok, this is real easy to cut and probably to put together. I offer it to lead you to my new video on YouTube. I bought a new shop stool made by DeWalt that I really like. After sitting on a hard wooden stool (like the one in the puzzle) for many years this new cushioned seat is a big difference. This is not a sponsored video. I paid for it myself and am only offering my opinions. I did it as an unboxing video thinking it would be a major project, but it turned out to be quite easy. If you need a new stool for your shop, check it out. If you want the puzzle pattern it's on my Free Pattern Page

    Don’t Worry, Be Happy

What with all of the disquieting news and the market unrest I decided to knock out this Charles Dearing Bob Marley pattern today. 1/4” Baltic Birch, mounted on 3/4” Pine, stained True Black. Bob’s head is free floating by design. Saved the waste piece, his hair, as a guide for placement. I used a mix of flat and spirals on this. I made this about 9”square and his head is just a hair larger than a quarter and cutting the detail was pretty challenging.

  22. you asked for pictures so here goes. now remember I' do easy things so be kind. lol The first one is a squarll ( I work in wood don't ask me to spell to! !) my younger cousin lives in California and someone told me they don't have squarlls there so I figured I d send her one. lol the second one is a clown lamp I made for a coworker years ago. then we have the lucet. you use it with yarn to make bets and such. I made several of these...one for each of my daughters and me and the craft box.lol I made the bag it goes in to.im real big on recycling thus the cow planter, candy dish or what ever. lol I got the patterns for the layered animals from the winterfiels colloction and I make all kinds of things with them.another thing I make with them are banks and pin cousions with a storage airea well somewhere I have a picture of the mouse pin cousin opened but I can't find it right now.lol to open it you just side the hind end up over. theres a dowl pin in the body and the back legs part. my mom asked me to make her a go away sign so that's the last picture. let me know if you wan to see any more.

    Georgia Grandmomma

Good morning. I am a grandmomma of three cuties from Georgia. I am new to a scroll saw. I purchased a DeWalt DW788 two weeks ago. I am still in the practice mode...just trying to cut curvy lines and simple shapes. I purchased the saw as a compliment to my Glowforge. I am excited to learn from the forum. Thank you.

  25. I think it originally said 28" I use it on the bottom, since I'm so short. Don't really need the height. So far it's been great.

  26. That looks like a pretty nice stool. However, I tend to agree with Jim that I would prefer a 5 footed version.

  28. Amazon has a bunch of different air quality monitors. I bought one on eBay which works well but tells me what I already knew. When I use the Dust collection set up on my scroll saw, the numbers go up a bit but not bad. On my table saw, my large dust collector is hooked up to it and does ok but still need to run the air filter. This is the monitor that I bought.

  29. I get mine at a local lumber store called LLJohnson WorkBench.. They only have two stores one here in MI and one in IN. I'm pretty sure WoodMaster gets his at the same place as I do.. I know he has mentioned it before to me.. I also usually buy large quantity during their annual Wood Expo event that is held usually first part of Sept. and they have big discounts on tools and lumber etc.. pretty big event for such a small town and place with a lot of demos going on etc.. There is a site somewhere that shows dealers for lumber yards and I think sawmills that you can search all over the USA to find suppliers.. I can't think of the site now.. I imagine google would also be a good one.. This sight was mentioned to me many years ago.. but these days with smart phones.. I bet you could ask your phone to do a search for local suppliers..

  30. Metal dust usually aluminum, but other metals are used. I don't want metal dust floating around anywhere. I have open motors in my shop and electronics. Tiny bits of metal so small you can't see them can cause malfunctions. Health, no matter how good your dust collection, you can't get it all. I don't want to breathe metal, polycarbonate, and dust from whatever they happen to decide makes a good label. CDs & DVDs have BPA in polycarbonate. Dealing with wood dust is bad enough. I got all this from searching for "What are compact discs made of?" on Google. I should have posted that instead of the link.

    Dust Separator???

My idea is to attach it to an Ice tea type jar that can just be unscrewed from the lid. I have old C-Pap hoses that may also work.

    Dust Separator???

just ordered it.I have a couple of Oreck mini vacuums and a couple of other mini vacuums that I think will work. Looks like mounting tabs at the top so the major part of the unit could set inside the receptacle instead of on the top. Would be very compact.

    Dust Separator???

Ray, Anxiously awaiting your report. I saw this one but decided to order the one pictured in the beginning of this topic for the larger hose size. Thinking this small one might work better with a mini shop vac for the scroll saw. I like that the majority of it fits inside the bucket. Tom

  46. I have GOT to get spike (bf) to look at and read this theard!!! lol He just cleaned and organized my workshop! lol Why pray tell do you ask? Because this is a quote....YOU never put anything away or clean this room. LOL he's given up on my craft room. lol When we brought this house about 5 years ago one of the selling points was a fairly good sized work room. I have enough room in it to have all my power tools in it out and up and ready to use!!! I even have room to walk around in there and theres a wood cabinet that runs all across the short end wall I can put stuff in and on. I'll see if spike can take a pic of it before my messy disorganized self winds up messing it up again. lol Before that I lived in the back apartment of my moms duplex. There was a very long narrow room with shelves along half of one long wall where I had all my pattern mags and paper patterns as well all my paint, and tools and supplys. lol I had to move things around the shelfs to get what I wanted half the time and if that was't bad enough I I had like 3 big boxes in there full of plastic bags packing stuff and unfinished crafts and finished crafts. lol My wood was kept in a plastic garbage can, now that was fun trying to get out the wood I needed. lol I stashed some wood under our bed as well as broken down shipping boxes in our bed room. lol where the majority of my other craft supplys were in bags. lol now for painting I had a small desk behind our bed and rolling drawer thingy on wheels for small bottles of paint. lol The bigger things I painted on the kitchen table. But it seemed pretty big to me at the time because before that I lived in a little trayler with my kids and for awhile my tools were in moms basement about 3 miles from where I lived, that only lasted a few months before I decided this was not a good aragrement. Which means I had my brother and father help me bring my scrolls and drill press to my trayler where I made room for them in the kitchen!!!! lol my hand held power tools were stashed under the kitchen table and in a small metal cabnet I put under the bar sepreating the kitchen and living room. It worked out pretty good there and there was still room for 3 bar stools under there too. lol that seemed like heaven at the time because before my ex left me he would have to haul my scroll saw upstairs and into the kitchen of the house we lived in at that time after I lost the basement. lol its true where theres a will theres a way! lol i'll look and see if I can find any pictures of theses as it never really accured to me to take pics of my working aires. even though I have a good woodshop now I usuly do all my paitig and putting together of projects in the kitchen.lol gezz I talk a lot.lol on posts anyway in person I hardly say a thing. lol
