    Red Fox

The pattern is by Jacob Fowler and found in the book "Woodworker's Pattern Book". The wood is Cherry 3/8" x 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" and backed with Baltic Birch plywood 3/8" x 8" x 8" stained black. It was cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #1 MGT blades. The finish is one dip in diluted Shellac and three coats Minwax spray Lacquer Clear Satin. Comments welcome.

    Cthulhu Game Box

Since the subject of my project can't be classified as a "Spring" project I felt this would be the better place to show my latest project. It's a game box for my eldest son and daughter-in-law who enjoy role playing games, and really enjoy H.P. Lovecraft. So, the next time we are in Denver (we're in Arizona), we'll surprise them with this Cthulhu Game Box. It measures 9" side-to-side, 10" front-to-back, and 6.5" top-to-bottom. The main image on the lid is inset and detailed with wood burning, and the various icons around the box are heat transferred.

    Captain is a Slob

I can't believe anyone sitting to have their pattern made would not take the time to do something with their hair! 1/4" BB, #2 Pike jewelers blade. Still needs a 50/50 BLO bath, a backer and a frame. Dimitri posted this picture a while back but am not sure if he is the designer.

    New guy -- Arizona

I just realized that I never introduced myself -- I'm a former plumber in my professional life. Then just over 2 years ago (January 2018) I needed a secret santa gift. Being a bit broke I found a piece of cedar fence and made a box -- very basic. But then I was hooked. After that I worked with my Dremel for a year -- Was gifted my first scroll saw (Ryobi) Jan 2019 and up-graded to a Pegas earlier this year. No previous experience in woodworking beyond a little construction so I'm teaching myself as I go. My working name comes from combining the first initials of all my kids - their spouses - and grandkids and playing with them till I found something that made sense -- can I buy a vowel please?

Hi John. I find that dipping gets the sanding sealer in all the frets, especially the tiny ones.

    Used blades

Yeah that's the truth for sure.. I can't remember when I ordered blades.. I ordered I believe 2 gross from Denny and 3 gross from DnD.. I want to say it was around March.. I have 1.5 gross left.. I've gotta get a order in soon or I'll run out again.. I've been trying to build up my inventory and should have around 550 - 600 items to offer soon..

That would depress me, seeing the amount of money I'd spent on blades

    New guy -- Arizona

We will be leaving for Oregon the first of July for two months but perhaps we could get together some time. I have met several people from The Village and made some pretty good friends as a result. Just a thought. Might be interesting Dick heppnerguy

    Im back...

Hard to stay away from the scrolling crowd and that saw that keeps on calling you to see down and get busy making things. Glad you were not able to stay away any longer. It sounds like you were a regular here. I have to say that I do not remember you, but perhaps you left before I became a member or perhaps I just hadn't come out of my shell yet. Welcome back. Howdy Y'all

Howdy, name is Bill. Married, one kid, one dog, one cat. I fell in love with scroll sawing about 15 years ago and then we had to move. Now that I am moving again I get the garage back. We get the keys tomorrow and the first load will be my tools! My thoughts are were am I going to get wood. I have some, but not enough. Maybe the wife will let me go get buy some mill ends. Im in the Telecommunications field for 30 years, I would like to retire but fate wont let me. I also Knit, I guess I had to have a creative outlet since I couldn't make sawdust. That is the short and skinny of it.

    Howdy Y'all

Mr William Jones, I would like to introduce myself....My name is Richard William Jones..I bet that catches your eye.. I want to welcome you to our family. I life in Southern Arizona and I have been in this family of scrollers for several years now. One of the first things I learned was, if you log on often and comment on the posts you read, you will quickly find that you are getting to know the regulars pretty well and before you know it, you seem to consider them your friends. Everyone I have ever contacted or seen making comments are always friendly and helpful. I hope to see you on here a lot. I have been a little absent from here lately as my son is in the process of moving into a brand new home and he wanted to add a lot of things to his house, inside, before he moved there. I have been away a lot over the past couple of weeks so the shop has been on hold and so has my computer, while I did my best to help him, where ever I could. Enjoy you scroll saw and be sure and post your work so we too can enjoy it. Dick heppnerguy

    Used blades

I typically pack them in a plastic folger's coffee can -about every 3-4 years when their packed i take them to the transfer station and toss the can in the metal bin - i asked and they don't mind them in the plastic container -because of the sharpness of the blades didn't want any one handling them to get hurt. a few years back a friend use to ask me for my old blades but when he realized all the cutting i do and that i totally wear them out ( ill admit I'm cheap ) he didn't want them .
