  1. I seen this cut before somewhere a while back & really loved it, so I had some time today to designed my own pattern this morning, I'm calling it "The tree Of Life Cross"..... I had this nice piece of red elm in the shop & thought it would look very nice with this cross, it's 10 x 12 , 5/8" red elm, 4 coats of Deft semi gloss polyurethane with 400 grit light sanding in between coats, chamfered edges. comments always are welcomed. God Bless & Thank You.

    New cutting

I was so inspired with the shop being clean and organized that I cut a new piece this evening. On Steve Good's site he calls it a "Christmas Oval". I cut it, with #3 Pegas blade, from 1/4" Walnut ply with a 1/4" Maple ply backer. Finishing is Watco Light Walnut on the fretwork and Watco Natural on the backer. I may hit it with a couple coats of Lacquer tomorrow to help protect it.

    Clean workbench!

Not really bragging... but I did do what I've been putting off. Did you ever get to the place you can't find anything right on the bench? I was between projects this morning and told myself "you've got to do something with this mess"! So I cleaned up the workbench, and found a few things I thought I had lost! I'll post a picture...neat, clean, organized...it probably won't stay that way for long...LOL! Also I got tired of the tubes I have my blades in rolling around all the time. When I bump the saw table they will roll off onto the floor...and I have to stop and pick them up. So I dug around in Steve Good's site and found a "tube carrier" plan I had seen a while back. Didn't take long to cut out and glue up...presto, all my blades are organized and within reach!

    Pot holder

My version of Steve Good pot holder, I had some Zebra wood kicking around, so I decided to use it. The spoons were fun to do, I just used my ball sander to shape them (no finish on them yet). I might look for a fork pattern to match the spoons. Anyway it was fun to do.

    Clean workbench!

I hate a messy bench, I like to be able to put my hand on what I want without searching for it. My OCD kicking in I guess. Marg

    Hawk model 220VS

Yes i know that now, I think that was my mistake. Some of the holes were to small, but i could not go any bigger b/c it would have been bigger then the space allotted for the opening. That day i went to lowes i could not find any blades. Went to HF, they only had pins, same story at HD finally, 1/2 mile from the house, true value had two types, spiral and the #7 skip tooth. i got the last pack. After 2 hours of driving around. Sooooo needless to say i ordered some from Pegas , spiral and a couple packs of the lower #s, for now. Thanks for supporting my thought, at least i know i was half right. The saw is still on my Black and Decker work bench in the garage. Once i get it downstairs and set up they way i want it will be a lot more comfortable. Carl

  18. I want to thank everyone who tried a pattern for this one for me. Russell I went with yours and it was a huge hit. He loved it!! I cut two, one for an autograph and one for Mr Pace to keep. He was very surprised. There's video of him signing it on my facebook page if anyone wants to see that. Courtys Scrollworks But long story short I can't say thank you enough to the amazing pattern makers in this group! You've come through for me on more than one occasion and always have top notch designs! Thank you again!

  20. Friend in high school bought one that was really rough shape. should have been a parts car.. but he and his dad sorta restored it and it was an awesome car for a short time.. He turned left at a traffic light when he thought the oncoming traffic was going to stop as the light had turned yellow / red... and the back fender took a pretty hard hit... they pulled it out and made it derivable again though they never really fixed it back up.. I think they had plans to but then he smoked a deer with the front too so.. LOL Boy they had a lot of work in that old car.. I'd have never attempted to fix it.. there wasn't a straight or rust free panel on the car when they first got it, LOL.. nor did it have an engine.. but they got a junkyard motor and rebuilt it etc.. Like I said.. they had a lot of man hours putting that car together.. only looked good for about 8 months before the first mishap.. LOL There was a post about that car on his FB page last week which inspired me to make this clock, LOL

  21. I had a Ford Maverick. I bought it brand new in 1970. Piece of junk. That model didn't last long. Kind of like the Pinto.

    Hawk model 220VS

Very nice job on that cutting Carl!! Love my Hawk saws... and I agree with Scott.. I'd probably use a #3 blade.. My go to blade used to be a #5.. but more often than not anymore I go to the #3 the last couple years.. Keep up the good work and show us your projects..

    Childhood Memories

World-famous WW1 flying ace!!!! My all-time favorite of Snoopy's alter-egos! Used to have a comic I cut out of the newspaper (yeah...dating myself...) where WW1FA was sitting atop his trustworthy Sopwith, moaning about the weather and conditions and general low morale, etc, and asked himself if there was no way to raise the spirits of the men? Linus shows up in the last panel and says "tell them they'll be home by Christmas!" Not sure why I cut it out, cuz it wasn't until many years later when I discovered a love for History (not just the rote memorization of names/dates taught in school), that I finally understood it. Charles Schulz was also good friends with Bill Mauldin of "Willie and Joe" fame, another favorite cartoon of mine. Snoopy can often be seen talking about going over to "quaff a few rootbeers with ole Bill Mauldin". Not sure who did it, but when Charles Schulz passed away, a cartoon was circulated with a smiling Snoopy walking up to Willie and Joe. Excellent cutting, sorry for the rambling!!!
